55Bear had a blast at Rico’s paradise 🌈 There’s little trails out behind the yard that were well maintained and a pond which he kept making zoomy laps through. There’s a garbage can at the start of the trails. He came home one smelly, happy, tired dog! We will definitely be back.Kristen F.

55The dogs just found their favourite new go-to spot. Beautiful spot with a marshy area that my dogs couldn't wait to explore. It was nice to see them so happy and smiling every time they decided it was time to cool off in the water again.
The host, Alexandria, is an absolute delight and very kind. Also quick to respond to messages when I got myself turned around when trying to "take a short cut" offered up by one of my neighbors.
This beautiful spot is easy to find, very clean, garbage is in plain view and readily accessible, there is places to sit, walking trails and it's fully fenced. My highly reactive dogs did get to meet the neighbours dog through the fence and I was astounded at how well they behaved and were quick to be diverted from the fence. So even though they were practically nose to nose, it was a non issue. One of my dogs is very deeply affected by the traumas of his old life and also starting to lose his eyesight, which is making him even more reactive (which I didn't think possible), I thought we would never get to a point where he wouldn't be so reactive/aggressive in situations and he proved me very wrong when the neighbour's dog came up to the fence to say hello. That made my heart happy.
The dogs and I are definitely looking forward to our next visit to this fantastic spot and many more visits to come. Thank you again, for sharing your beautiful oasis with us Alexandria. Zorica M.

FAQ About Wabamun Dog Parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 4% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Wabamun area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 64 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 77 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
