55Nice quiet spot with room to explore. We could hear dogs barking but they were a good distance away and my reactive dog wasn’t bothered in the slightest. Plenty of water available and poop bags to clean up with. The only downside is that there isn’t much shade so be aware of that on hot days or when the sun is right overhead. Thankfully there was a nice breeze so we weren’t too hot. The directions in the description are clear but we still missed the turn in so just be on the lookout for the gravel road, there was also a sign marking it so we knew we were headed the right way. Then clear signage at the entrance too which was helpful Naomi S.

55My dog and I always enjoy coming Unfortunately, I’ve noticed that other dog owners leave their dog poop (in bags) behind. Makes for an unpleasant experience for the rest of us. Dana E.

55Very nice private dog park! Reasonably priced with great views! We liked being able to walk around with our dog with no fear of other dogs knocking down my unstable walking husband. Dax, our chocolate lab had a great time. Thank you for supplying water and a bag! I thought i had bags in my car, I was mistaken. Angie G.

55It was a great space and so close to home! As others have mentioned there are cacti growing around the trail but I know the owner is working on keeping those contained. Bridget U.

55It’s a nice little spot that is quiet. The host has seating and a nice place for the dogs to lay down on that’s astro turf. There is also a spot to throw your dogs poop away. I did have a hard time finding the spot, but it’s right before Waze / Google tells you where the house is. You can kind of see it from the main road. I came from Highlands Ranch on a Saturday and traffic was awful because I went past the Fairgrounds. Keep that in mind when planning to come on a weekend. My dogs loved the spot and we will definitely be back. Monica M.

55Great spot! I was impressed that even though it's a very large area, there was no garbage, poop, or other hazards (like holes or dips in the ground). The dogs had a really great time!Cyndi I.

55I didn't need another excuse to drive Hwy 11 but now I have one. What this spot lacks in sheer size, it makes up for in relative solitude, simple beauty, and presentation.
The spot is perfect for a little fetch and mindfulness. It's surrounded by endless rolling Colorado pasture. The folks did such a cute job building out the spot; It's so new, clean, organized, and well marked. Access from Highlands Ranch was quick and easy. The grasses weren't too harsh for my little dachshunds feets, and there weren't any cacti. Cale B.

55Beautiful spot for my pups to play! They enjoyed the trees in the middle with the path through it, and we played fetch for the rest of the time. Water and water bowls are provided, a little glider bench, and a table for kids. We'll definitely be back!Lindsey U.

55Andrea was very communicative and the spot was awesome! I let Andrea know that my dog has some anxiety with other dogs and that I’d be working on training with him during our visit. She volunteered to keep her dog inside and even offered to ask her neighbor to do the same. She was very kind. The directions to enter the spot are very clear, they had disposable bags, balls, and a large water jug with a bowl available. There is no shade, so be aware of that on hot days. I saw one small cactus, but it is Castle Rock so the fact that there were not more is impressive! The spot is a field with longer grass so I would be watchful of rattlesnakes in the spring through fall. We had a great experience here and will definitely be coming back!!Allison J.

FAQ About Castle Rock Dog Parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 2% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Castle Rock area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 293 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 399 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
