55What a great spot! The signs out front made it easy to find. George met us when we arrived and patiently let my sensitive pup come to him in her own time, then walked us down to the gated area. My dog had a great time running around the big open space, playing in the snow, and sniffing all the sniffs. We even saw the neighbouring horses, one of whom came right up to the fence to patiently say hi to my dog - Mabel was leashed at this point, so safe, and she seemed to really enjoy checking out these strange new creatures. It was very clean and offered some slight increase in incline which was nice! There are horses you have to pass to get into the fenced-in space, but they are VERY friendly and super cute! They aren't close while you are in the space, so I wouldn't worry about if your dog is slightly afraid.
We were greeted right when we pulled up and were given great instructions! Water was provided as well as a bin (for garbage), and chairs to take a break.

FAQ About Mono Dog Parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers).
