Top Public & Private Dog Parks in Rootstown, OH

We are sniff spots biggest fan & have visited pretty much every single one in our area. This was over an hour journey for us but wow was it worth it. The entire property is securely fenced, I was not worried about my 110 pound mastiff getting through the fence. He is rarely interested in farm animals, however, when the chickens started clucking he did get a bit interested and I had to redirect him back to the trail. I definitely recommend keeping your dog on a long line until you get down to the pond/Trail area! The pond is absolutely beautiful, and the dock is perfect for jumping off of and swimming. My dog instantly dove off the dock which was surprising to me because he is usually more wary of water. Once he got in the water, he did not want to get out, he swam around for quite some time before we explored the trails, which was just as great ! It filled my heart with so much joy to see him roaming around off leash without the stress of another human or dog coming across our path! This was such a special experience, and we will definitely be back. I highly recommend this spot.

This place was a great experience! The trails are well kept and easy to navigate. Be ready for mosquitoes. Thankfully Megan had a whole station stocked with bug spray, bottled waters, a first aid kit (for pups and humans), and some items to clean off muddy paws! My dog loved meeting the few farm animals on the property and running through the woods! Definitely would come back!

This was our first time trying out a Sniffspot, and Rolling Wild Acres absolutely exceeded our expectations. The property is stunning, with well-maintained trails winding through the woods and a breathtaking lake that my pup loved—he happily cooled off with a swim after tearing through the trails. The hosts were wonderful—friendly, informative, and incredibly accommodating. They’ve thoughtfully set up a welcome station with a detailed map of the property, fresh water, towels, a first-aid kit, and even bug spray (a lifesaver with how bad the mosquitoes have been this year!). Every detail was considered to make our visit safe and enjoyable. I truly couldn’t have asked for a better first Sniffspot experience. Highly recommend! Ludo approved 🐕

The best Sniffspot we've ever been to. I only wish they offered weekend bookings so we could come back more. My dogs enjoyed jumping off the dock and swimming. Next week day I have off work I hope to come back.

We had such a good time!! The main trails were easy to follow, neatly groomed and clean. The off trails were pretty muddy and I was in crocs so we didn’t venture on those much. I even jumped in the pond a couple of times with the dogs and it felt amazing in today’s 90+ degrees heat! The pond and dock/boardwalk were the main attraction for my water-loving dogs. Such a beautiful view, I enjoyed sitting with my feet in the water. We’ll definitely be going back! Poop bags and poop stations were all over- it was very helpful! Loved seeing the ducks briefly, we didn’t linger in that area though to avoid stressing the ducks out (my dogs are chill about farm animals as they live on a farm, too!).

We had a great morning! One of the best parts of this spot is that it’s almost entirely shaded, so my boy was able to be out on a warm day!

4 AM wake up. 4 hour roundtrip. And 100 percent worth it! We took our reactive dog Cookie to this place. It is secured with full fence. It has a beautiful lake with kayaks, and some farm animals. Perfectly maintained trails, and everything you need provided right there! We spent two peaceful hours walking, observing, reminiscing, dreaming, and having breakfast while Cookie enjoyed real freedom off-leash. Amazing place to take your dog off leash in the woods. I just rescued a young dog 4 months ago and while we’re working on recall she can’t be off leash yet in a highly distracting environment. It was amazing to watch her have a blast off leash and know she was safe. The path is well maintained, the pond has a nice dock, perfect for cooling off after a run through the woods. There is livestock on the property but they’re contained and it was easy to keep my dog away from them.

The space is amazing! Great trails around and lots of open space. First thing Shaggy did was jump straight in the pond! Very well maintained, with plenty of resources for guests as well.

This was our second time visiting but won't be the last! The tranquility of Rolling Wild Acres cannot be overstated. They recently rebuilt the dock as well, which one dog promptly fell off, to our laughter! We can't wait to go back.

I am very grateful to the host for letting us in. This is a beautiful spot, and the only place one of my dogs can run free.

My pup had an amazing time off leash sniffing the area. Instructions were very clear on how to get there and area was very nice. We would definitely visit again!

Truly my dogs new favorite place on earth! The trails are beautiful and clean and the pond is wonderful for water loving dogs (Lab heaven). Some good tips for owners: the trails behind the river can be muddy so wear shoes you don’t mind getting a little yucky and if you are testing recall (great place to do it!) leash once you get back to parking or your curious dog might try to say hi again to the adorable pigs, chickens and ducks! Love this Sniffspot so much!

Awesome spot. It was pretty wet after a heavy rain and we didn't bring good rain shoes but around the lake is beautiful. Our senior pittie loved it and slept the whole way home. Will be back again!

We had a blast here! Fence was secure, property was as pictured in listing. She even had towels sitting out- which we greatly appreciated! We already set up our next visit!

Amazing time, beautiful property, Amazing host! When I arrived there was an entire table full of items I may need on my hike. Bug spray, hand sanitizer, dog trash bags, water, dog bowl, a map, and so many other things! I could not believe it. Definitely check this place out!

We loved bringing our German Shepherd here! Tyson gets anxious around people, so having this gorgeous place to explore with him while not having to worry about running into other people was perfect! He loved having the freedom to run around and play (and he loved that it was snowing!). It was easy to enter the sniffspot and it was a great afternoon for all of us :-) we can’t wait to come back!

What a great place! Our Newf and our Pyr loved every minute of their visit! Thank you for a terrific place to let our Pyr run and play without worry he’ll encounter another dog.

My dogs and I had the absolute best time! We are in town for Christmas and they needed to blow off some steam and this was the perfect spot for that. They had so much fun doing laps around the trails — I don’t think they stopped running for more than a minute the entire time we were there. We can’t wait to come back in a couple days!
