Her current adventure partner is Jameson, a Papillon; together, they enjoy hiking, backpacking, walks in the park, hanging out at breweries, and nose work! Amber is a graduate and Certified Training Partner with the Karen Pryor Academy¬†and a Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge & Skills Assessed through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT). Reactivity, over-arousal, resource guarding, stranger danger, distractions, etc.

Dog training methods:

I offer initial consultation where we discuss your goals and your dog's needs and develop a management and training plan together; followed by training packages based on what each individual family needs to be successful.

Why I became a dog trainer:

I took my family dog to training classes at the age of 10, and I was hooked! I love working with dogs and their people to help them live the best life together that they can!

My favorite part of being a dog trainer:

Working with people and their dogs to figure out the training plan that will work best for their lifestyle to reach their goals together.

My #1 dog training tip:

Keep track of your progress through short journal entries, and don't give up on your dog! In the middle of a behavior modification plan, it can feel frustrating to not be where you want to be yet. But it is so easy to forget how far you and your dog have come together! I love to have my clients keep track of their progress in short sentences each day, so that they have something to look back on to see how far they have come!

He loves nothing more than exploring new hiking trails and embarking on thrilling outdoor adventures. Whenever he is not working on Sniffspot, he can often be found hiking or visiting multi-acre fenced sniffspots with his two beloved dogs, Soba and Toshii.
