More info about Lyz Knight's dog training:
Private customized training programs for new dogs (puppies or adults) and for fearful and reactive behaviors. Programs include basic manners as well as behavior modification. I also offer virtual group classes for nervous dogs who need a confidence boost and on-demand courses focused on reducing stress at the vet clinic.
Behavioral issue focus:
Reactivity (barking, lunging, growling, or attempting to bite, directed at people or other dogs). Fear and anxiety-based behaviors. Helping newly acquired dogs adjust to life in their new homes while teaching dog guardians skills to set them up for success with life with a dog
Dog training methods:
I am a fear free certified trainer and all of my training programs are created with force-free, positive reinforcement training plans. All clients start their programs with a virtual consultation where I learn more about their training needs and give them initial training, management, and enrichment guidance to begin addressing their needs. We then meet for live training sessions (either virtual or in-person) where I strive to help them meet their training goals while providing education around all things dog (body language and species-specific needs, helping our dogs feel safe, appropriate expectations for behavior, etc.). We check in regularly to make sure the dog guardians are feeling comfortable and empowered by the training process!
Why I became a dog trainer:
I adopted my dog Molly in 2014 and ended up spending the next few years working with her on her reactivity towards people and other dogs. I learned a lot and saw firsthand how much good training can help people and dogs live happier lives together and I wanted to help facilitate that for others.
My favorite part of being a dog trainer:
Getting to witness the excitement and happiness people feel as they connect with their dogs through training!
My #1 dog training tip:
Learn about dog body language! This is such a valuable foundation skill - if you can understand what your dog is telling you, you will be better able to address their needs, reduce or prevent unwanted behaviors, and supporting them when they are having a hard time.

David Adams is a man of many passions, but his love for dogs stands above all. He is not only a dog lover, but also the founder of an innovative platform called Sniffspot. This unique platform connects dog owners with private property owners who are willing to rent out their space for off-leash playtime. While the idea of Sniffspot was initially conceived by his wife, Rebecca, David has been the driving force behind its remarkable success, tirelessly overseeing its growth and development.
David's dedication to providing safe and enjoyable spaces for dogs to play, explore, and socialize is evident in his unwavering commitment to Sniffspot. He strongly believes that dogs need ample space and opportunities to stretch their legs and have fun. As a result, he has worked tirelessly to build a network of private property owners across the country who share his vision and are willing to offer their space for the benefit of dogs and their owners.
Despite his busy schedule, David always finds time to indulge in his passion for the great outdoors. He loves nothing more than exploring new hiking trails and embarking on thrilling outdoor adventures. Whenever he is not working on Sniffspot, he can often be found hiking or visiting multi-acre fenced sniffspots with his two beloved dogs, Soba and Toshii. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys the fresh air, breathtaking scenery, and the sense of freedom that comes with being in nature.
David is based in Salem, MA.
