I’ve never met a more devoted, and sarcastic, group of dog lovers. I’m thankful to be part of this community (my wife forces me into).Brandon Ruhl

"Dark Horse is simply the best. They save more dogs than anyone around and the sense of humor they bring to the table while doing it is completely unmatchable. At the heart of it all is two hardworking, caring, and hilarious women with a ton of knowledge, care for animals, and great systems. They truly bring laugh out loud write ups and creativity to getting dogs saved and adopted ehile keeping things fully transparent and there is just no one like them."

"Passionate rescue that saves local dogs in animal controls and shelters. Takes the underdogs, that other rescues often avoid."

"Dark Horse takes dogs from our incredibly full municipal shelter. The city shelter is getting 40 animals surrendered a day and Dark Horse is there, scooping up dogs hours before euthanasia and taking the time to find them the best homes for each dog’s unique needs. They are a breath of fresh air in our rescue community and they need to be lifted up!"

"I recently started fostering for Dark Horse Dogs, and do not have enough good things to say about them as an organization and people. What drew me to them initially was there no bullsh**, honest, and humorous approach at saving the dogs. They also pull from our municipal city shelter in Chicago that is maxed out 24/7. They have never once made me feel like a burden for asking 728384 questions, and are always there to make sure my foster is getting above and beyond her needs. I am proud to be a part of the team and look forward to saving more dogs!!"

"Truly one of the best around. Always stepping up to take the easy, hard, medical or timestamped pups."

"This organization actually gives a f***. They go above and beyond to save as many dogs as possible and go into overdrive to save those that are time stamped for no fault of their own, but simply because the shelters are full. I've never seen more heart, tears, and soul from an organization and I've volunteered for a few."

"DHD has been quite honestly a blessing in disguise. I have always wanted to be a part of giving back to the chicago animal shelter as I adopted my two pittie babies from there, but i wasn’t so sure as to how i’d do it. Upon reaching out, i was put in contact with this rescue and i have loved every minute of it—the good AND the bad. Dana and Tara do such a good job of making light of tough situations yet still helping their fosters and working to meet both our (the fosters) but most importantly, the pups in our cares’ needs."

"Dark horse dogs consistently pulls the most urgent dogs from our local shelter. They focus on the hardest to adopt dogs and make us laugh while not shying away from the heart break of animal rescue."

Get your dog the safe enrichment they need by renting a Sniffspot

David Adams is a man of many passions, but his love for dogs stands above all. He is not only a dog lover, but also the founder of an innovative platform called Sniffspot. This unique platform connects dog owners with private property owners who are willing to rent out their space for off-leash playtime. While the idea of Sniffspot was initially conceived by his wife, Rebecca, David has been the driving force behind its remarkable success, tirelessly overseeing its growth and development.
David's dedication to providing safe and enjoyable spaces for dogs to play, explore, and socialize is evident in his unwavering commitment to Sniffspot. He strongly believes that dogs need ample space and opportunities to stretch their legs and have fun. As a result, he has worked tirelessly to build a network of private property owners across the country who share his vision and are willing to offer their space for the benefit of dogs and their owners.
Despite his busy schedule, David always finds time to indulge in his passion for the great outdoors. He loves nothing more than exploring new hiking trails and embarking on thrilling outdoor adventures. Whenever he is not working on Sniffspot, he can often be found hiking or visiting multi-acre fenced sniffspots with his two beloved dogs, Soba and Toshii. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys the fresh air, breathtaking scenery, and the sense of freedom that comes with being in nature.
David is based in Salem, MA.
