Janeen’s Catahoula Leopard Dog Rescue (JCLDR) is a 501c3 nonprofit dog rescue, consisting of volunteers who worked together successfully in years past for other rescue organizations. JCLDR was officially organized in 2014. After being in rescue 15 years, serving in the capacity of Coordinator at Large, in-house behaviorist and Vice President, Janeen Jackson pulled together trusted volunteers to create JCLDR, sharing 40 years of experience and expertise with the Catahoula breed. Our goal is to be a help to the staggering numbers of dogs being thrown away, traumatized, and euthanized. We wish to aid humans in keeping their commitments to dogs, through education and support. We offer a proven Board of Directors who are compatible in rescue and skilled in business operations. In spite of hectic lifestyles, we each share part of the load as volunteers, seeking no reward or benefit for ourselves except giving life another chance. Dogs are not unfeeling pieces of furniture, and they deserve love, dignity, and a second chance. We are passionate about our mission, and for many of us it is a personal one. We understand that sometimes all people really need to inspire them to give a dog another chance, is to hear someone say, “I can help. Together we can make it work; I believe in you.” We strive to build a bridge of trust.

Adoption Policy
Janeen’s Catahoula Leopard Dog Rescue adoption process:
Step 1: Complete the below Adoption Application.
o Please answer all questions as completely and detailed as possible.
Step 2: We will contact you to set up a Phone Interview.
o Phone interviews can sometimes take up to an hour to go over everything we need to discuss, so please plan accordingly when picking a day and time with our representative.
Step 3: Veterinarian and landlord reference check
o Please let your Veterinarian’s office and/or landlord know that we will be calling for a reference and give them permission to speak with us.
Step 4: Approval / Denial Notification
o You will be informed of the final status of your written application via e-mail to the address you have provided us.
o If denied, your application is closed, and you will be told why the application was denied. If approved, we will provide you instructions as to any additional information we may need and will also inform you of the next steps.
Step 5: Meet & Greet
o Once you have decided on a dog you would like to meet, we will have that dog’s foster parent get in touch with you and set up a “Meet & Greet.”
o We will review locations and travel requirements and arrange the “Meet & Greet” when possible, based on available options that take into consideration all factors of distance, dog safety, etc.
o Long distance adoptions are possible under the right circumstances and are highly successful because we carefully screen our dogs while they are in foster care. We provide you with the clearest, most concise possible overview of our dogs to the best of our knowledge and will not withhold any information, whether positive or negative, regarding the dog’s temperament, etc., that we have been able to evaluate in the time frame we have had the dog.
Step 6: Adoption
o If, after all other steps are completed, everyone is in agreement that the adoption should proceed, the adoption agreement contract will be emailed to you ahead of time for review and will need to be finalized, and payment made, before you take possession of your new dog friend.

David Adams is a man of many passions, but his love for dogs stands above all. He is not only a dog lover, but also the founder of an innovative platform called Sniffspot. This unique platform connects dog owners with private property owners who are willing to rent out their space for off-leash playtime. While the idea of Sniffspot was initially conceived by his wife, Rebecca, David has been the driving force behind its remarkable success, tirelessly overseeing its growth and development.
David's dedication to providing safe and enjoyable spaces for dogs to play, explore, and socialize is evident in his unwavering commitment to Sniffspot. He strongly believes that dogs need ample space and opportunities to stretch their legs and have fun. As a result, he has worked tirelessly to build a network of private property owners across the country who share his vision and are willing to offer their space for the benefit of dogs and their owners.
Despite his busy schedule, David always finds time to indulge in his passion for the great outdoors. He loves nothing more than exploring new hiking trails and embarking on thrilling outdoor adventures. Whenever he is not working on Sniffspot, he can often be found hiking or visiting multi-acre fenced sniffspots with his two beloved dogs, Soba and Toshii. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys the fresh air, breathtaking scenery, and the sense of freedom that comes with being in nature.
