Peanut Butter Paws was born out of love for a rescue dog named Stanley (the white Chihuahua pictured in the photo) who was pulled by an incredible rescue in Simi Valley, CA called Tiny Loving Canines, run by director Linda Nelson. With over 30 years of rescue under her belt, Linda took us and many other volunteers into the folds of TLC and together we were able to save over 3,000 lives in the span of almost 10 years. Linda essentially 'wrote the book' on how rescues could be run, pioneering such programs as "Foster to Adopt" and spearheading the No Kill Movement in Ventura County. Linda gave so much to her community and completed many happy families. When she eventually retired and moved out of state, TLC closed its doors. We continued to network shelter dogs, donate to reputable rescues, and even rescued a few dogs independently. Once the surge of post-Covid dogs being dumped in the shelters reared its ugly head, we realized we had to do more. It was finally time to honor Stanley's legacy and Peanut Butter Paws was born. Linda continues to support us from afar by providing her years of expertise and sharing TLC resources. Although Peanut Butter Paws is much smaller than TLC and will remain a foster based rescue, much of the way it has been set up has been inspired by ''The Little Rescue that Could", Tiny Loving Canines, Inc.
Mission and Vision
Peanut Butter Paws Rescue, Inc. was founded in 2023 with the primary goal of rescuing neglected, abandoned, and abused animals and providing a safe haven for them where they can be medically treated, rehabilitated, and then placed into loving, furever homes.
We love what we do and the furbabies in our care! We are an all-volunteer, foster based, 501(c)(3) charitable rescue. We do not have a physical shelter or store front location. All of our dogs are fostered in private homes where they can begin to heal and receive basic training while they wait for their furever families to adopt them. Donations are tax deductible and allow us to rescue and care for each dog we take in by providing them with food, supplies, training, transportation, and veterinary care.
Adoption Policy
Our Adoption Process
If you fall in love with one of our Paws, please fill out the online application. A member of our organization will respond within 7-10 days. If it looks like a good fit, then the next step will be to set up a meet and greet so that we can all get to know each other and make sure it's a great match for both our pup and your family! If so, we will do a quick home check to make sure everything is safe for the new addition and then finalize the adoption.
Please note: You may still apply for an animal listed in a 'pending' status. In the rare event that an adoption falls through, and you are a good match for each other, we will contact you to see if you are still interested in adopting that dog or puppy.
If you see the *SLWS* watermark on a dog's cover photo, it means that dog is in our 'Saving Lives with Stanley' program. These dogs needed extra medical care (ie: broken bones, cherry eye, growth removal, etc.) or are a little bit older and needed a bit more money put into their care (detailed senior blood panels and additional anesthetics for surgery).
The adoption donation for our Peanut Butter Paws Pups ranges from $300-$600, depending on their approximate age, which will be given to us by a licensed veterinarian. We are a 501(c)(3) organization so your adoption donation is tax deductible and allows us to continue to save lives. Our puppy donations help provide additional funding for our seniors and allow us to rescue medical needs dogs under our 'Saving Lives with Stanley' program. We thank you for supporting all of our special dogs who would not otherwise have a second chance to find love.

Get your dog the safe enrichment they need by renting a Sniffspot

David Adams is a man of many passions, but his love for dogs stands above all. He is not only a dog lover, but also the founder of an innovative platform called Sniffspot. This unique platform connects dog owners with private property owners who are willing to rent out their space for off-leash playtime. While the idea of Sniffspot was initially conceived by his wife, Rebecca, David has been the driving force behind its remarkable success, tirelessly overseeing its growth and development.
David's dedication to providing safe and enjoyable spaces for dogs to play, explore, and socialize is evident in his unwavering commitment to Sniffspot. He strongly believes that dogs need ample space and opportunities to stretch their legs and have fun. As a result, he has worked tirelessly to build a network of private property owners across the country who share his vision and are willing to offer their space for the benefit of dogs and their owners.
Despite his busy schedule, David always finds time to indulge in his passion for the great outdoors. He loves nothing more than exploring new hiking trails and embarking on thrilling outdoor adventures. Whenever he is not working on Sniffspot, he can often be found hiking or visiting multi-acre fenced sniffspots with his two beloved dogs, Soba and Toshii. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys the fresh air, breathtaking scenery, and the sense of freedom that comes with being in nature.
David is based in Salem, MA.
