Our promise to our animals: We will love and protect you, provide an enriching and nurturing foster home, care for all your medical needs, give you the structure and training needed for success, and above all treat you as our own while you are with us.
Our promise to our community: We will work together, we will be kind and considerate, we will educate, we will advocate, we will serve.
We are a small rescue established in North Idaho with 501(c)(3) status. Our team brings years of rescue and animal welfare together to form a family who is here to provide safety for forgotten animals and help find their forever family. We focus on those who need help the most, our abandoned local shelter dogs needing medical and more.
Furry Farm is a foster based rescue; with an application, home check, and a meet and greet process before formalizing the adoption of your new furry friend. If you see an animal you would like to meet, head over to our website at thefurryfarmrescue.org to complete and application.
Mission and Vision
The Furry Farm Rescue's Mission is to reduce abandonment and euthanasia by providing a safe, structured, loving transition to a forever home.
Adoption Policy
Our adoptions are not first come first served, but a match of the needs of the animal with the best potential adopter. First step is to submit an application to adopt. Each animal listed to the right shows their information, traits, and adoption fees in bio, or simply go to the bottom of this page and click on the desired application. You will want to have your vet information, landlord if needed, and two references and give yourself a few quality minutes to complete. You can expect to hear from us about 14-21 days after submitting your application, or the deadline posted. We do understand many folks would prefer a faster timeline. It's how we roll, slow and steady. If you are looking to adopt immediate, same day, hand that dog over there are many amazing shelters in our area to serve you: Serving Spokane County: SCRAPS, Spokane Humane Society, and Spokanimal. In North Idaho you can adopt the Better Together Animal Alliance or Companion Animal Center. With selection of your application, first we conduct interviews, then we check references and speak to your veterinarian. During that process we will also schedule a time for you to meet and get to know your new furry friend, and do a simple home check. If you have other animals, we will want to do some intros with all the animals at that time. We then ask you to take a few days to think about it and let us know, then we schedule a second Meeting before finalizing the adoption. All adopters sign a contract with the Furry Farm Rescue. All of our regular adoptions come with a trial period, which our adoption coordinators will discuss during the process. We also have a fantastic Foster to Adopt program which enables us to match your needs with an animal in need

"I have adopted from The Furry Farm and fostered for them. They are a top notch group that cares deeply for all animals. When I got sick and had to re-home my goats, Stephanie put the word out and helped me. This group is the best!"

"The Furry Farm Rescue works tirelessly to help overlooked animals in our local shelters, providing (often expensive) medical care and loving foster homes while animals are looking for their forever homes. With an extensive application process, families who adopt animals through the Furry Farm not only end up with healthy, happy dogs, they themselves have proven they are willing to put time and effort into their new family members."

"We adopted our dog Ben (Sammy from #chubbycherubs litter) from Furry Farm. I had never adopted a dog in this fashion before so I kind of scoffed at the process at first. A meeting with all the puppies (highly recommend a puppy pile, instant mood booster), we were then asked which ones we liked, and then a 2nd meeting at another time with a few of the pups including some we had mentioned after first meeting. We made our choice at that time. The process worked. Ben is the sweetest boy and we couldn't be happier."

"We've adopted two pups from The Furry Farm. We love what they do and do our best to share the adoptees, those looking for foster to adopt and the fundraisers. I've done some fundraisers for the rescue, and volunteer at events, helping on the paperwork side of things and reaching out to adopters for updates on their new family members. The Furry Farm will always be a part of our lives. Aunt Stephanie was an instant friend. We support The Furry Farm 1000% for their fight in saving animals."

"I love that we offer our babies a safe foster environment, with no time limit on how long they can stay. As well as meeting all their medical needs, we have such an amazing group of volunteers who are willing to pick up, transport, foster, advertise, find sponsors, and do community outreach. I am thrilled to help furry farms advocate on behalf of our precious babies."

"The Furry Farm Rescue is an incredible rescue that always puts their rescues above everything else. They were fantastic when I adopted my first dog 4 years ago. This year they reached out to me when they needed an emergency foster for a puppy. They knew my dog and me well enough to know the puppy would be the perfect fit. I recommend them to anyone looking to foster or adopt."

David Adams is a man of many passions, but his love for dogs stands above all. He is not only a dog lover, but also the founder of an innovative platform called Sniffspot. This unique platform connects dog owners with private property owners who are willing to rent out their space for off-leash playtime. While the idea of Sniffspot was initially conceived by his wife, Rebecca, David has been the driving force behind its remarkable success, tirelessly overseeing its growth and development.
David's dedication to providing safe and enjoyable spaces for dogs to play, explore, and socialize is evident in his unwavering commitment to Sniffspot. He strongly believes that dogs need ample space and opportunities to stretch their legs and have fun. As a result, he has worked tirelessly to build a network of private property owners across the country who share his vision and are willing to offer their space for the benefit of dogs and their owners.
Despite his busy schedule, David always finds time to indulge in his passion for the great outdoors. He loves nothing more than exploring new hiking trails and embarking on thrilling outdoor adventures. Whenever he is not working on Sniffspot, he can often be found hiking or visiting multi-acre fenced sniffspots with his two beloved dogs, Soba and Toshii. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys the fresh air, breathtaking scenery, and the sense of freedom that comes with being in nature.
