Jen's 100 Acre Private Dog Park and 2.5 miles of trails in Bath, Ontario.

Partially Fenced
100 acres

Updated August 25 2025: The wheat fields have now been plowed under, so 3 trails are open! Horse fly and mosquito season is upon us so please wear a hat and use insect repellent. I also carry a small towel to shoo the flies away. The drainage ditch and culvert is dry now. The pond is very weedy this time of year so not great for swimming. Daily 7:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. we offer a partially fenced 100 acre property where your dogs can run free. Currently, we have 3 official (2.5 miles of) groomed trails, plus 2 groomed 1 acre field play areas. The main trail and playing fields are cut short if you wish to avoid longish grass. We have chairs available in the first field for you to relax. We have a Chuckit and balls available, fresh well water in a bucket, for dogs, and bowls, and a garbage can in the first field also. There is a pond at the bottom of the first field to the right. Be advised that in spring there are geese and ducks that nest there; please prevent your dogs from harassing the wildlife. I don't recommend the pond for swimming for humans at all and only for dogs in May, but dogs swim in there all summer and fall; it's your choice. In winter, the pond poses a danger. Please don't allow people or dogs to go on to the ice. There will be a warning sign in winter. From there we have a mile long gravel walking trail along fields and woods. It's very straight, and if you stay on the trail, you can't get lost. It is very quiet and peaceful. You can often see deer, wild turkeys and lots of birds, sometimes bald eagles. A walk to the end and back is 2 miles and takes 40 minutes at a moderate pace. Part way back the main trail goes through a shallow marsh. In the spring the frogs singing is quite remarkable! Further along there is a small run-off creek and metal culvert that is suitable for dog swimming when it is filled with water. This is marked with orange pylons so is avoidable if you put your dogs back on a lead as you pass. Just past the culvert, there are 2 fields going East that are planted with soybean. We have trails cut around these that go along woods and takes about 15 minutes, ending back on the main trail. If you just travel along the main trail you will reach the big hill. Going East at the base of the hill is the entrance to The Shady Trail, a nice short trail going through the cedars. The entrance is marked with orange tape. This trail ends at a small field with a deer stand in it, a red arrow marks the way back to the main trail. In and back would take about 10 minutes. The main trail ends at the top of the big hill. Please stay out of the woods spring through fall due to ticks. You can use the woods once cold weather comes, provided you can find your way out. We do have ATV trails with entrances along the big hill, marked by private property signage. These trails aren't always obvious to others and we don't want folks getting lost so please keep your bearings. Be dressed for gravel on the trail, uneven footing on the side trails, and potential water and mud puddles on the property in wet seasons and after rain. During spring and summer, prepare for insects. Wear hats and repellent. ** The main trail can be icy in spots in winter so wear appropriate boots. The main trail runs North/South so if you want a sunny walk, go at midday. A shaded walk, go after 3 p.m. We have a white garbage can for poop but please use biodegradable dog poop bags. *Please remove your dogs' poop wherever they go!* *No smoking on the property* ***IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD, $11 per hour for the first dog, subsequent dogs are $5.50/hour. On your way home, stop at MacKinnon's brewery just down the road for food and drinks. They are dog and family friendly; an all around great place to visit!
