The surface is a packed sandy soil during the cold weather months and mowed natural vegetation during the warmer months. A walk around the interior fence line is about 1/4 mile so it's great for the active dog owner too. It's a close-in rural location right in Aurora just two miles east of I-225 from the Sixth Ave exit. While my field area is strictly for the dogs, there is a horse in a corral area next to the dog field. My neighbor has loose chickens on his property. Neither the horse nor the chickens are bothered by dogs. Dogs may bark out of curiosity and that's totally appropriate and ok, but they soon realize that with no reaction there is no need to bark. Sniffin' Hours are: 8:30 am -5:00 pm every day of the week. You may reserve time up to 14 days in advance.

Unleashed Pasture in Berthoud is the perfect place for pets to play! I have a greyhound who gets the zoomies and the large, securely fenced yard keeps her safe and provides ample room to get up to 45 mph and run freely. It's nice to be able to let her run without being worried that she will crash into obstacles. There are areas specifically for digging, plenty of toys, clean water for the dogs (and people) and even a pool to cool off in after a run. There are also several places for humans to sit and relax while their pets play. I can't recommend this place enough!

I would leave ten stars if I could. This was our first experience with Sniffspot and it set the bar VERY high! Jennifer has clearly put so much love and care into her pasture. She has truly thought of every last little thing. When we arrived we found a welcoming covered seating area with tons of toys, treats and water for dogs, snacks and water for humans, poop bags, sanitizer, wipes, sunscreen, bug spray, and a personalized note for me and Max. He sniffed around and explored the two digging areas, the wading pool, the two photo-op spots, the agility course, the rainbow bridge area 🌈🐾🖤 and the fence that separates the pasture from the chickens and goats (so interesting to him!). Then we played chase with the Chuck-It and ball that we found in the toy bin (I had left ours at home!) and while we were playing Jennifer came out to say hi. She shared the story of how and why she set up her Sniffspot and it was such a joy to visit with her! She was really wanting to be sure Max felt safe and had fun. We would come back every day if we could but given my work schedule I think we will just become weekend regulars ☺️

This spot was so welcoming and incredibly well-equipped – you could literally show up empty-handed, and everything you’d need for a fun time with your pup is already there. Last week, Mom and Pops took me and my brother, Theo to a Sniffspot place called “Unleashed Pasture” in Berthoud. It was AWESOME!! We got to run and run and to talk to the goats and chickens. We’d never seen anything like them before. There were hundreds of places to sniff and check-out. We played with toys, chased balls, dug in play boxes, we even had room to rough house with each other (I won!) They had water and treats for us.
