55This spot was exactly what we were looking for! Our pup is reactive so we need to avoid areas with other dogs. It was very private and the directions were very easy to follow. Lots of places for our dog to sniff and run. We plan on going back!!Kristen H.

55This is a great spot! Lots of space to roam and sniff, very clean. We only picked up one tick between the 3 of us (2 humans and one VERY fluffy dog), which was a nice surprise this time of year. My pup’s prey drive is too high to be off-leash safely but the wide open space was perfect for letting her wander around to her heart’s content on a long lead without getting tangled up. There are a few marshy spots that you may want to watch out for if your dog, like mine, will try to hop into any bit of water she can find. Omar is a friendly and considerate host. Highly recommend!Hannah L.

55Great open field. If you are practicing recall or “leave it” this is the spot. We brought a ball and it was a great place to throw the ball around and get some energy out. Jessica G.

55This was our first SniffSpot experience and it was lovely! Omar gave clear instructions, the location was easy to find and the dogs loved it. So many smells for our GSP and lots of space for our Aussie to roam. Overall a beautiful plot of land with no sounds other than Mother Nature! I felt really comfortable there and so did my reactive Aussie. Will definitely return! Taniya T.

55Omar's spot in Freeport is fantastic for a sniff walk, long line work, as well as a lovely place to take in birds and the foliage. Our pup Ozzie really enjoyed walking about, exploring, and was relaxed. It was low stress for all knowing that we had the field to ourselves for the allotted time. Thank you Omar for making this available. Much appreciated!Leslie K.

55My favorite Sniffspot yet! It was so peaceful for my Husky mix rescue, who wandered and sniffed on his 30 foot lead to his hearts content!
Omar, the owner, is an absolutely lovely human. He moved his car so I could drive to the exact spot (which isn’t far, but kind of him nonetheless).
I asked him about wearing orange as it is hunting season, but he owns the land extending into the woods and it is posted also in several places so we felt very safe.
I understand those who have written about the ticks, but my pupper is well protected and I had my lint brush (my vet said this is the best for tick removal)
at the ready!
The spot is very easy to travel to as well.
We will most definitely return!Cathryn S.

55I've booked this Sniffspot a couple of times as we adore the location! I have a reactive farm dog that has unfortunately had to adjust to apartment living since we moved to Maine, so being able to have some land that reminds him of what he grew up around is ideal. Omar has always been a great host as well. He is communicative and keeps to himself if he's on property during your scheduled booking. The spot is extremely private, has some inclines here and there which is perfect to tire my dog out running up and down. Its a great spot to work on training as there are no triggers. I think I've seen turkeys once but they stay close to the border of the field. Definitely will continue booking this spot! Taniya T.

55This is a wonderful spot to go to. Callie is currently going through training to help her socialize with dogs and this was a great get away. She was able to run and play without worry of other dogs around. I highly recommend and we will be coming back! Thank you!! Katie F.

FAQ about our Freeport dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 95% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Freeport area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 17 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 4 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
