55Our first visit of the year and it was perfect! We love that Tanya provides everything you need. Along with the stand up paddle boards (SUP), we also used dog toys, towels, waterproof phone cover, and washed our dog off in the bath tub station. The waterproof phone case allowed us to get some fun photos out on the water.
Our dog Turkey finally got the hang of the SUP this time! We appreciate that Tanya lets the dogs have fun and enjoy her boards. It’s been a great way to introduce our dog to the idea and get some practice.

The host’s advice about pups with good recall is spot on - my pointer Tootsie had a blast running in the opposite direction up the hill at first! Once she was leashed, we all enjoyed the water together as a family. The creek is mostly shallow, but there are deeper spots, so keep an eye on your pups if they’re not used to swimming. FAQ About Penn Valley Dog Parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers).
