A private hiking trail for dogs and their owners 🐾 there will not be any other dogs out on the trail. Our trail is located in Bolton (Waterbury address). It’s is approximately 1 mile up the mountain. There is a Brook that follows the trail most of the way up. The trail starts out with a nice mowed path and leads you into a beautiful canopy of trees as you head into the woods and it quickly turns into a steep uphill hike. We have 135 acres for you to adventure on ! Please follow the signs for the trail head parking - go all the way past the house and you will see a sign on your right.

Be prepared with bug spray and an uphill attitude! This place is incredible! The trail wound for about 1.25 miles before things started getting overgrown, but that was long enough to tire out my pup after the uphill and being able to run wherever she pleased! The brook runs beside the trail most of the way and was a welcome reprieve for the hot dog! We will definitely definitely be back! Thank you for opening up your space like this, it's amazing!

What an absolute gem this spot is! We have 3 labs and one is reactive so he doesn’t get to go hiking with us. He smiled ear to ear today and came out of the stream and gave us the biggest kiss! This spot is doggy heaven! It’s a real hiking trail that runs along side a beautiful stream so the dogs are able to cool off along the way. It is very steep but it was a great workout for all of us! Will definitely make this a spot we visit often so our reactive pup can experience Vt the way it’s supposed to be experienced! Everything was very clean and well marked.

The trail was great! Steep and challenging. It is a hike more than a walk in the woods. The stream was a great feature! I have missed hiking so much since we got our boy and had to give it up due to his reactivity and the amount of off lease dogs out on the trails. This was just perfect. A real hike and all to our selves! We could just enjoy and not be worrying the whole time if someone was around the next bend. Our boy Murphy loved it and he listened so well and enjoyed the freedom. Thank you so much for the opportunity to give this to him and us! Nothing against the spot, but due to the heavy rain we have had this year the trail is muddy and slippery in many places so just be aware. We will definitely be back!

Brook Run has become our favorite spot! The pups just love running through the woods exploring and cooling off in the river. The spot is also very well marked with signs as well as tree marks along the trail. It’s total fun and freedom for the pups!

It was nothing short of wonderful to have our dog off leash on a trail! The buffer of acreage was comforting. It’s a beautiful space to practice recall, exercise your dog in natural surroundings, and reinforce your relationship with your pet. Our dog clearly said “thank you” to us more than once. Decided to finally check out the trail for myself after recommending it to others and I was not disappointed. All dogs had a blast including my 14yo who was able to maneuver up the terrain. It is steep and parts of the trail are muddy or not well defined, but it allowed my dogs to exert a ton of energy. The trail follows along a stream and is primarily shaded. I recommend allocating 1.5hrs to ensure you have enough time to enjoy the water features. We will definitely be visiting again!

Such a great hike! We did about 2 miles in an hour and 20min. Gus had so much fun and especially loved cooling off in the stream on the way up and back. The trail was well marked, wide and not terribly muddy. Will definitely come back and 10/10 recommend!

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot hiking trail at the same time as me?

Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
