We offer five acres of partially mowed fields and a natural wooded area. There is a small pond and access to South Prairie Creek. The creek has a variable current, so it may be best for larger dogs. The pond would be ideal for smaller dogs who aren't strong swimmers. Trails began as deer/elk trails but have been improved. There are some small logs and rocks here and there to step over so sturdy shoes are recommended. The leaves that cover the trails in the fall may be a little slippery, so take care.

A .63 acre dog sanctuary for you and your pup. The yard is well maintained with dog friendly grass and has incredible views of the Hood Canal and Puget Sound. If you're interested, there is private beach access for you and your pup to explore miles of beach (public but almost always empty). There are numerous dog toys available and a massive 6+ person, dog friendly couch (late Spring to early Fall) you can relax on and watch the canal when you need a break! Regarding the beach, there are approximately 50 steps which you will need to climb up and down to access the beach so please wear proper footwear. As this is on the Hood Canal and not a lake or a pond, tides impact the size of the beach. If you are hoping to walk endless miles of beach, the tide will need to be at 2ft or below. Anything under 4ft will give you a massive area (probably 1/2 mile or more) and almost guaranteed private area as only people with stairs can access the beach at this tide level. Though the beach is open at any point, I think the maximum height you would probably want to go is about 6.5ft. This still gives you and your dog a decent sized area to play in (approximately 500ft by 30ft or 1/2 acre). Photos 16 and 17 show the beach at 6.25ft with a very large sandy area for you and your pup to play in. Anything above 6.5 ft is not recommended as the beach just gets thinner and thinner, but you're able to try if you want. (no refunds given if you don't like what you find). You are responsible for checking out the tides before you go. Legally, I can't recommend any specific source for you to use, but you might find good information Googling "tide chart port ludlow". Regarding ADA Accessibility, my property is on a gently sloping hill. To access it, there are 2 very wide concrete steps to get to the grass. This would be doable for someone on crutches and probably ok for a regular wheelchair if you had a second person to help lower you to each step and pull you up. It's definitely not accessible to a motorized wheelchair. Sorry. Note - restroom is only available if I'm home, otherwise there is one approximately 2 miles northwest at the gas station in Port Ludlow

Great experience! We were met at the Tiny House and given instructions on how to get down to the river. Our chocolate lab absolutely loved splashing around in the river and our two young kiddos loved collecting river rocks and having a snack on the shore. We will definitely come back again.

Robin was very helpful in showing us the path since this was our first time. You could drive a good part of the way there or if you want, it would be a nice path to walk the dog too. We drove this time. This location has everything a dog could ever want: grass, sand, water, and trees. Our dogs loved hanging out by the river and splashing in the water. Dog heaven!

We have a big Rhodesian mix and a Corgi mix. They had a BLAST. The river was a bit high so we couldn't let them swim, but the long walk over and back (really pretty) wore them out. Robin is incredibly nice. We will be back...many times.

We had a wonderful time here. Lovely host generously sharing access to her family's farm with great river access. Unless you have a car with high clearance and things are pretty dry, you should plan on a good length walk on leash around the edges of a large field to get to the area at and near the river where the dogs can run free. It sounds like it may be ok to be in the field at certain times of year, but most of the time it is being actively farmed, so important to stay off it. We enjoyed both the leash walk and the off leash romp. The river was high- right up to to the sandy bank and I would not have felt safe letting a dog swim out into the river, given the strong spring current, but playing in the sand and the shallows was great fun. There was a stretch of trails along the riverside to explore, and then a nice leash walk back to our car. We look forward to returning throughout the year and seeing the farm and river in different seasons.

We had a great time! Robin was very communicative, even when Sniffspot was having some technical difficulties. We met her at the tiny house, then followed her in her own car down to the field. She gave us some info and we were on our way! There was a worker in a large tractor doing work but we were able to avoid him. The rock beach and river were so nice on such an unusually hot day! We did see some people up the river on the other side, as well as a group of teenagers floating down the river. Our dog was more interested in the river than the people across the way. We will be back soon!!

What a peaceful wonderland t his spot is. They had just plowed and planted so we had to walk the perimeter of the field, which turned out to be a pretty long haul for my older girl. We found the river but no rock beach like the photos. Either the water was too high or we just couldn’t find the right trail through the overgrowth. Either way, we’re coming back. It is a great place for dogs!!!

While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than public dog parks. If your dog loves water, you can go to a park with water features, but if they don't love water, you can avoid them. What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot park?

We require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not allow dogs with a bite history. We require that owners sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules. We also require that pet owners follow safety protocols around water features.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot park at the same time as me?

No. We only allow one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the area during visits. So when you book a Sniffspot park you have the entire place to yourself and your dog-owning friends if you invite them. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings so you will not run into other park patrons when coming or leaving.
