Wonderful location. Open area for running with both inclines and flat area and plenty of woods and farm smells to be investigated.

55We had a great time experiencing some country atmosphere. I really like the mix of forest and open area. I was happy that there was a bucket of water. Warning: The open area is populated with rows of small growing trees. That's no impediment to a dog who just wants to run around and sniff. My dog was quite happy. But if you were planning to say throw a tennis ball, I don't know how well that would work. My other concern is one that seems to be a common situation with all the country SniffSpots we have been to: The tops of the fences are lined with barbed wire. I'm concerned that if my dog saw say a deer and got excited and put his paws on top of the fence, he would get hurt. However, this hasn't happened so far and I'm guessing that most dogs are too small for this to be a problem. I have an extra large dog. As advertised, this really is a wild area. Part of the area is choked off with what looked like blackberry vines. And even in what looked like a clear area, my mom got her foot caught in a sneaker blackberry vine and had a hard fall. Well, the ground is relatively soft, so the fall could have been much worse. I'm just suggesting that people be very careful as they walk around. I'll definitely be going back! My dog got to run around and be himself. It was a good experience for both of us.Jeannine B.

Second time coming to this spot and it’s even better than before! The water bucket is in the enclosure, my dog loved it! There was also a bucket to put my dogs poop bag in so I didn’t have to bring it home in my car. There are now nice chairs to sit in if you don’t feel like walking around for the whole hour. It’s an amazing and special spot!

Lovely open space that was very secure. One of my dogs loves to test fence boundaries to find gaps and holes to escape, and there were none here she (40lbs pit) could fit through. We loved the partially wooded and partially field area, and can't wait to go back!

What a great place! My 7 month old pup Parker was able to run off leash for the first time_it was delightful for both of us. A moderately wooded area, open space and secure fencing all around; clean and well kept. The host came by to say hello, too! It was a perfect experience. Thanks Sniffspot.

This is our first visit to a sniff spot with our reactive dog and two young boys. All three had such a good time running around the enclosure. It’s kept very clean of dog waste and has a variety of features- large fir trees, baby trees, some open space for zoomies. The water bucket and chairs were clean and a nice feature. We even enjoyed some braying from a cute donkey and a goose squabble. A beautiful setting. Thanks for sharing with the community!

Great new spot! Large acreage with a gravel track for walking up the hill, couldn't see any other trails through the grass and woodland (hopefully they will appear!) but the dogs had a good time sniffing around the main track. There was lots of dog drinking water by the entrance gate.

New Spot just southwest of Eugene. This is a big rural property, with several dirt roads/trails, including one straight up the hill along some high-voltage lines. Similar terrain to Mt Pisgah, mixed oak savannah with tall grass, blackberries, etc. Our dog loved romping along the trail and exploring around the various machinery and woodpiles. We met the owner at the gate and he gave us a quick orientation. It's a work in progress as a Sniffspot and he was patching a fence as well as leaving water jugs out for future sniffers. For our purposes, it was great. We will be back

Dan is great; I was his first visitor with my 3 dogs and he was kind and helpful and open to my suggestions (I use sniffspots a lot). The property is a work in progress but I’m willing to drive from E Springfield to visit! It’s like having Mt Pisgah without leashes!! A small car may have a little trouble getting in so bring your truck if you have one.

Really wide walking lanes made this a nice little jaunt. It was easy to avoid going anywhere with high grass that might have ticks ready to leap. There was plenty of water at the gate so that no dog would ever go thirsty.😊 There were so many random things everywhere to explore.

So excited for the first large scale, fully fenced sniffspot that I've seen so far. A beautiful property with lots of space to romp. Some of the fencing by the entrance isn't fully secure and there are some gaps that an escape artist might get through. Excited to see how this space will develop!

The place is awesome! Finally a big area to hike and allow my reactive dogs to roam freely. The distance from the gate to the end of the trail (another gate) isn’t that long, but the hill compensates there. By the time we made it to the top, my dogs were exhausted. We didn’t see any ticks, but my dogs are protected so I wasn’t worried. Will definitely come back!

We’re thrilled to see this new spacious SniffSpot right outside Eugene! We had a great time exploring the property this morning. As noted by the host, the tall grass can’t be mowed during fire season, so we stuck to the gravel road paths. Can’t wait to keep visiting and see how this spot continues to evolve.

I LOVE this spot!!! It really is a nice, wild place for dogs get great sniffs and romp through tall grass. It was also super beautiful. Both me and my dog were in heaven. Definitely follow Nicholas' advice and bring boots. Be prepared for a work-out as the place is pretty much all hills. It's quite do-able, even for someone like me who gets scared walking on steep slopes, but just be prepared to feel your thighs later if you are in as bad a shape as I am. When you get to the gate, just push. It's not latched. For starters, you will go down a nice, wide dirt road. At the bottom of the road, there is a fork. Take the right fork for the main path that goes to the top. Enjoy!

This place was great! TONS of space for my reactive dog to roam, and lots of trails to hike. Be prepared for lots of uphill! Hiking shoes are definitely recommended. My dog loved it so we will definitely be back.

Are dog parks good for dogs?

It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.

Are dog parks safe?
