We host a beekeeper who has about 40 hives on a well-marked and avoidable section of one trail. The bees are out only from April to October but please avoid the hives anyway. On our 26-acre hobby farm, we have a 6-acre fenced farm field/dog park. It is a large place! Enjoy seeing natural landscapes, trees, and privacy along the way. Have fun, play catch, train and let your animal have unleashed freedom! We have uploaded a printable "safety map" for each season, which contains a legend for your use and the status of the park. Please note that the fire pit is not available during the winter season. Since we live in the County, we have a couple of nieghbours that have dogs and chickens or animals in their backyards. If other animals are out, please avoid walking along the fence and cedar trees on the one corner. The Safety Maps shows these two locations with a green “⚠”. PARKING AND DIRECTIONS TO SNIFFSPOT: 1. Ride up and park in the guest parking. You will see a white sign with green letters “Guest Parking” nailed to the hydro pole above the yellow and black slow sign. 2. Typically, there is a red jeep parked in one of the three parking spaces. You can also park on the grass if it's not too wet. 3. When you exit the vehicle, please leash and walk your dog until you reach the SniffSpot. As shown on the map 4. Walk towards the white barn, and about 1/3 of the way, hang a right and head towards Highway 6. Follow the tree line through the field. Do not go to the left/west side, if past the chicken fencing by gate #1, that is the wrong way. Turnaround. 5. Avoid going through the forest at the parking space; the larger pond will block you, and the woods are thick. If you are walking in the forest that is the wrong way, please see the map. 6. The path through the field will curve a bit and take a hard right, and you will see an opening with a gate. That is the SniffSpot. *2025 UPDATE – November 19, 2025* 2025 is almost over! We are the top spot in the local area for a second year in row! Since opening, we have had 274 happy dogs with a rating of +4.7 out of 5! Our Corgi loved walking after your visits because of all the new dog smells. We have reviewed all of your comments and feedback. One of the recent milestones is that we have levelled the field, and the space is very open and clean. Here are some additions and projects we will em”bark” between now and 2026 to improve your experience and the Sniffspot: 1. Fence gap at the Pond: Our neighbour has permitted us to install a fence segment on their property to close the fence gap at the pond. Once installed, we can declare a 100% fenced-in spot before 2026. 2. Entrance signage: We will be adding a main sign at the parking space, which includes a printout of the Sniffspot map, extra doggy bags, and garbage with a mini roof/shelter. 3. Directional signage: We will be adding posts with signs and directions that will be installed throughout the property in the summer of 2026. If you have any questions, please let me know. Best Regards, Daniel, Rachelle, Jacqueline and Scotch (the Corgi) FENCING DETAILS The 6-acre Dog Park Field is permanently fenced with approximately 2,500 linear feet of 4’ tall farm fence. The farm fence consists of professionally installed 2” by 4” squares of wire mesh (commonly used for smaller livestock such as sheep, donkeys, cows, etc) and cedar posts. If you look at the photo, you can see the locations of the gate on the main photo or on the “safety map” (see photos and captions). We have more fencing on other parts of the property outside of our dog park in case your dog does not have a good recall. The space is very large, so even during the events of potential escapes, the risk is low.

Our farm is located on 100 acres of beautifully scenic property and we have opened 26 acres of that space for you to explore. Our property is on predominantly flat elevation with trails, multiple fields and roughly 7 acres of forest. While the forest can be dense in spots, it is very walkable and presents a lovely spot to hike through. We have 5 ponds as well as a stream that runs the width of our property and travels through the forest. We have a myriad of wildlife that you may see or encounter during your adventures here. These could include (but are not limited to) great blue herons, muskrats, rabbits, geese, ducks, deer and coyotes. We do have livestock and a guardian dog on the property (they are fully fenced) as well as family pets so please respect their space and ensure your dogs are leashed anytime you are nearing the barn, paddock or barnyard areas.

We have plenty of space for running around, playing frisbee, fetch, swimming.. whatever your fur baby is after. We are a small farm, which means we have chickens, ducks and goats. We keep our animals in their coops when fur friends are visiting. ***please note; we require notice at least one day in advance if the animals are to be kept in their coops. Otherwise we let them free range*** The creek has an easy entry location. It’s shallow water at that spot. Deeper water in other areas. Our property is sprayed using a food grade insect deterrent. Plus our chickens free range when there are no dogs around. This means very minimal tick sightings. We have children, so expect some toys around. If you’re bringing children, they’re welcome to play on the play structure. (Pending parental approval and supervision). Plenty of muskoka chairs to relax in while your fur baby plays. The road isn’t right beside the area where fur friends run, however it is accessible from the yard. If you have a dog that’s a flight risk or likes to chase cars, this isn’t the right spot for you. There is a few pasture from cattle that is not fully fenced in, but welcome to walk through it. If you are looking for an area to train privately away from everything/hunting training (scents/recall) this would be perfect! I do have 2 dogs on the property. If you are out with your dogs mine will not be outside, just to warn if you hear barking. I do have children. They know not to approach a pup without permission. If your pup is not friendly with children as the parking spots will be right in front of our house. I will make sure they’re not outside when you are unloading or loading back up!
