55Such a beautiful spot! Very clear signage to help get you to the spot, massive space, and the host was preemptive and warned me about the mud so I was nicely prepared! Well worth the travel from Charlotte. I’d make the hour drive again any time! My only change would be to book more time!Caroline F.

55The signs Marc puts up make it easy as pie to figure out where to go. We appreciated the paths that were mowed to make walking/hiking easier. The pond was fun for our boys. It was hot, and luckily there is an umbrella is attached a chair (much appreciated) - just wish there were 2 of them! Bring water for yourself/dogs, bring towels to dry dogs but also to put on chairs. One chair comfy, the metal ones not so much. Still overall a great SNIFFSPOTJudy S.

55Great location, easy to find, and loved all the signage to help us find our way. Cleo especially enjoyed running in and out of the wooded areas along the perimeter, and, traipsing through the pond.

55Great time with my family. If bringing small kids bring a stroller or something so you can open the gates, hold the dogs, and have your kiddos. Or bring more than one adult haha. My dogs did bark at the cows but they are separated and have no way of reaching each other. Great time will definitely be back Carolynn S.

55Marc was so kind and welcoming. He happened to be outside when we arrived and since it was our first time he instructed us on where to go but there are plenty of signs out that make it super easy to find the park! His property was absolutely beautiful and we had the best time! My dogs loved running in the giant pasture but mostly enjoyed swimming in the pond! There were chairs and some dog toys already out by the pond which was great! Marc was a fantastic host and we can’t wait to come back! Ellie C.

55Oscar and I had fun exploring part of Marc's farm! There are clearly posted signs once you reach the property, which are very helpful and appreciated. The signs show you where to park and where to walk to reach the SniffSpot location. You'll be dealing with one gate before you reach the visitor parking, and two other gates to reach the SniffSpot; make sure to be courteous and close them behind you!
Oscar was fascinated by the goats as we walked to the dog area. It's a small hike to reach the dog area - maybe 5 or 10 minutes, depending on how long they want to gaze at the goats! The SniffSpot is spacious, with a little pond/marsh located inside. It can get a little muddy closer to the water, so be mindful when choosing which shoes to wear; something with good traction can help to prevent slipping. There's not a ton of shade in the dog area. I appreciated the chairs with umbrellas, but it might not be a bad idea to bring a larger shade with you, especially in the summertime. There were also some little grills and a bin with extra poop bags and a Chuck-It toy. I found the remnants of the ball nearby, so I think another dog must have enjoyed their time with it!
Since the dog park area is a little overgrown, you'll want to prepare for ticks and check your dogs/yourselves afterward. I wore shorts because it was a hot day, but longer pants would probably be the smarter choice. Oscar loved splashing and swimming in the pond. There were a lot of little frogs and tadpoles! We also saw a young deer.
Overall, I loved this SniffSpot, and I'll definitely return in the future. I think it would be more enjoyable when the temps aren't so high, but my dog was bored and I felt guilty. Watching him run, sniff, and splash made it all worthwhile. My only other recommendation/suggestion would be to bring plenty of towels and wipes to clean up before heading home. I'm not sure if it would be possible to offer a hose near the visitor parking for folks to rinse their dogs off before leaving, but it could be a helpful addition.
Thanks so much for letting us enjoy part of your farm! We had a lot of fun, despite the day being stupidly hot. This is such a great place for a dog to be a dog. Jorden R.

55Worth the drive! We drove an hour to visit Marc’s Sniffspot, and we’ll definitely be back. Out of every sniffspot we’ve visited, this one seems to be the one our dogs enjoyed the most. An hour flew by, and we decided next time we’re going to stay longer. Our pups were engaged the entire time. They loved splashing in the pond. The signage is good. Everything is clearly marked with where to go and what to do. Marc gave us a brief introduction and was very friendly and welcoming. A clear cut path kept us from getting lost. We never felt nervous when we couldn’t see the pups. Recommendations- be prepared for your dogs to be wet when you leave, bring drinking water for yourself and your pups, and pack a hat. Thanks to the reviewer who recommended wearing pants & boots. Leggings & tennis shoes work well, too. 10/10Lindsey T.

FAQ about our Lancaster dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 97% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Lancaster area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 187 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 21 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
