Rainy season update: we will continue to be open throughout the winter, even with all the rain. It is going to be muddy, but hopefully not too bad. To cut down on the mud, we won't be taking the tractor in to fill holes, so please watch your step when walking around. Close to downtown Corvallis, come let your dog run free and just be a dog for a little while. Our newly fenced in area is a work in progress and we will be adding more things to do for pups and their humans. If there is anything you would like to see added in the future, please don't hesitate to let us know.

As winter approaches and post- icepocolyps logging winds down, I would like to test a pricing option. For the winter months, at least, I am going to offer sliding scale discounts. The guest can choose their pay rate for sanctuary use based on their moment-to-moment economic status. Discounts are as follows: $2 off (JMSS2); $4 off (JMSS4); $6 off (JMSS6). Enter the discount code (in parentheses) for your desired discount. Just as a reminder, or for new inquiries, the effort and cost to recover/rebuild Jasper Memorial Sanctuary was extensive and expensive. Material costs were over $5000. Labor costs, had I hired all the hours worked, are over $15,000. The price increase for utilizing the Sanctuary is small in comparison to the expenses incurred from the loss (0.1%). Thank you to all my amazing guests who have given your dog(s) opportunity to find their calm within by visiting Jasper Memorial Sanctuary. It is amazing to see your dogs and you finding your inner peace. Thank you too for following all of the rules to keep this SS sustainable into the future. The fee set is the amount needed to allow me to keep this site open and provide improvements when needed. (I understand other sites charge less, but I've learned charging less is not financially sustainable. Hosts do not earn what they charge). I love hosting new and returning guests. RECENT IMPROVEMENTS/RESTORATION: Approximately 80 damaged/downed trees removed. 40 uprooted stumps ground out 340' of new 5' fencing installed 140' fencing repaired New entrance gate/location created 100s perhaps 1000s of poison oak dug out (it's still present, just fewer) Culvert installed at entrance with gravel path to gate (pending) New signs installed A 6'x6' sand box has been added. Please encourage digging in this location only. Discourage digging in all other locations for the safety of everyone and the preservation of the environment. A poop bag dispenser has been installed on a post near the gate and will be kept filled. Jasper Memorial Sanctuary, named in memory of my soul dog Jasper, is no larger than 1.3 acres in and fully fenced. The acreage is a combination of mid-age dense timber, new reforestation, devastation zone and open grass. The area is flanked on two sides by driveway. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝘀. Be respectful of wildlife. Deer and turkey roam the property and consider the space their home. If there are wild animals in the sanctuary enclosure upon your arrival, please keep your dog(s) on leash until the other animals have vacated the area. Under no circumstance are dogs allowed to chase wildlife. Domestic and rescued animals that live on the property include horses, donkeys, geese and chickens. 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝘀 and do not approach any of these animals. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 is about 50' away from the entrance gate. Memphis’s meadow is fully fenced with new 5ft field fence. The lowest point is a three foot man gate by the house. It’s beautifully sloping park like setting with large mature trees. There is always shade to be found no matter the time of day. We offer extra amenities and are always open to suggestions! There is a larger 8ft wide stock gate (also secured with woven 5 foot fence) near the parking area. This is marked with a beautiful wood sign and sharing library. Please help yourself. We have two green chairs please feel free to move them around the yard as you wish and a picnic table to enjoy morning coffee, lunch break with your pooch or even a nice evening picnic to watch the sunset. We have added a gazebo for enjoyment on sunny days and rainy day’s alike! Feel free to send us a note if you have a special request or ideas on how to make your visit more enjoyable! We offer a fully fenced 6 acres in Turner, Oregon. We are a 5 minute drive from I-5 and South Salem. Here at the property, we have the most gorgeous views, a seasonal stream, a farm with a wide variety of animals (who are in their own fenced area) as well as lots of areas to sniff for your furry friends! We have a big parking lot and provide chairs, so you’re able to take a rest. For your convenience, doggy bags are also provided by the gate. Someone is always available on the property, so that if you have any questions, we are only a text/call away! Note: This pasture was used for our farm animals & we send our goats in once a month to keep the grass cut. With that being said, you may come across farm animal droppings during your visit. We also keep our tractor implements in this field, so please be careful around those. They’re located through the entrance, to your right. In the winter & fall months, the pasture has mud around the animal area. It takes up about 1% of the whole 6 acres. There is plenty of pasture for your doggy friends though!

Pawfect spot! This is truly a spot where you can feel safe letting your dogs run offleash. The grass is kept cut short, so the dogs did not pick up any grass seeds or foxtails. There were no toxic or poisonous plants, no poison oak or anything like that. The fencing was secure. We did not encounter any other animals along any fencelines. There shady spots, comfy chairs, plenty of water (which also happens to be easy to refill if needed), supplies for picking up doggy waste, and even a Chuck It! with lots of balls. The host was friendly.

Monti’s Memorial Park was wonderful. Great space for one or multiple dogs. Plenty of shade, a dog wading pool, a Chuck-It with and endless amount of balls, dog poop bags and a shovel for gathering poops. Thank you Susan for sharing Monti’s space with us. Oh my gosh this is the most perfect place. The host is amazing! There's water and tennis balls for your dog. A small pool! Chairs, shade and a completely private fenced in area. The grass is extremely maintained and plenty of room for your pup to have fun! We'll definitely be back ❤️

A wonderful, completely outfitted (pool, balls and ball throwers, waste bags) treed and mowed field. Nice breezes and two of the most delightful hosts I’ve met, Paul who keeps the field in mint condition and Susan, who can tell fascinating stories about the history of the place plus stories about Monti, for whom the field is named. Clearly a “10” on a ten scale.

55There are a lot of pros for this site! 1) Large water bin. This is a big deal for my giant, slobbery dog. A normal water bowl isn't usually big enough for my dog and we both really appreciated the large bin here. 2) Large area. There are larger sniffspots out there, but most of the other sniffspots are a lot smaller than this one. This one is large enough that most dogs won't get bored too soon I think. 3) No barbed wire. All the rural sniffspots that I have been to before this one have a string of barbed wire at the top of the fence. If a dog knocks a human over near the fence or a dog puts his front paws up on the fence, there could be serious injury. I was SO pleased to see that this sniffspot has no barbed wire at all! 4) Flat area. While my dog really enjoys the smells of a more natural setting, this sniffspot is like a giant, very well maintained lawn, without mole holes, dog dug holes etc. The spot is very nice for human footing. If you are the kind of person who likes to walk at a good pace around the perimeter to move with your dog, you will really like this sniffspot. 5) Easy to get to. This sniffspot was practically a straight shot from my house and didn't take long. I thought it was really easy to get to. While my dog is not a ball dog, I also want to mention for those people who have ball dogs, this sniffspot is a DREAM come true! There is a giant bin of balls and the sniffspot area is mostly one large open area. It would be a great place to throw balls. The only suggestion I have for improvement is that the parking directions were a little unclear, and I didn't see the house numbers when I drove up. I only knew where to go because I recognized the fence from the picture on the snifffspot page. My suggestion is to put up a sniffspot sign where we are supposed to park - which will serve both to make sure we park in the right place and help first timers quickly find the right house. That's just a minor suggestion. I want to end on a wholly positive note, so I'll add: The price is good too! :-) We go to sniffspots a lot. The cost adds up. Such a lovely spot! Our dogs enjoyed romping on the large, flat lawn. Nice mix of sun and shade and plenty of fresh water. Susan was a warm and welcoming host. We will definitely be back!

Loved this spot! Great open area for our pyr mix to roam, shady spots, a doggie pool and tennis balls provided. Susan was really welcoming :) There’s not one dog I can think of that wouldn’t enjoy this spot. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful spot with plenty of shade to relax in! There are balls, a fetchit, and even a small dog pool available! The ground is pretty level and the grass is mowed low so a very safe spot for long runs after the ball. Susan is also very kind and accommodating! My new favorite sniff spot!

An absolute gem! We got the river spot which was perfect for our old lady dog who is very reactive to other dogs but just loves to swim! The hosts set out a pop up tent on their private bank and we enjoyed a relaxing day free of anxiety of being approached by strangers. The stream had a lot of wading space about ankle to knee deep and a couple of steep drop offs with pools where my doggy could swim to her hearts delight. We didn’t spend any time in the park enclosure but it looked very spacious and clean! They even gave us a shady parking space. We will be back!

What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog field?

We require that all four-legged friends have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not allow dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules. Make sure to check host rules before visiting to ensure, for instance, that you are following allowable sports activities rules and any special events rules.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot field at the same time as me?

No. Facility rentals are for private play time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the area during visits, so this is perfect for a private adventure for you and your doggie friends, and perhaps a human friend. Hosts understand that many guests have dogs in training and are nervous owners. So when you book a Sniffspot dog field you have the entire private spot to yourself. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between time slots so you will not run into other guest dogs or a previous person when coming or leaving in the field parking area. Some hosts may have multiple fields, but there is always a buffer between fields.
