A beautiful fenced-in 5 acre parcel with hills, a few trees, areas of short and tall grass. Dogs absolutely love it here. Occasionally we’ll see wild turkeys and a few deer (and a gopher or squirrel here and there) but otherwise a dog roaming paradise. Easy to pull in and park (near the empty barn) and there are several shady spots around property. I have a dog bowl, some treats and a few balls but also acquiring some more toys. Most visitors find the lawn size ample for running around and throwing a ball a bit, but if you are looking for a field to throw a tennis ball as far as you possibly can with a Chuck-it, the yard is not really the right size and shape for that, sorry! Oakland backyard for your doggy to run!

I have a large space that I am sure a dog will love to run in. In the winter, post rain, it can get VERY muddy back there. Years of dogs running around has torn up a lot of the ground cover and it's now just dirt, which becomes mud in the winter. In the summer, the "grass" (more weeds than actual grass) gets very dry. There are some burrs due to the dryness so if your dog has longer fur they might get some attached to them. I do my best to weed the weeds that produce them, but there still might be some. It's a fairly large open space with a longer run on the side. Also, I want to note that in the back of the property the fence is lower, around 4/4.5 feet (the rest of the yard is at least 6 feet), so if your dog is a good jumper, this could be an issue.
