55Spot was large and clean. Great instructions and communication with host. Property lines were very obvious. There is probably a 45+ mph road running the back length of the spot ... a couple lines of trees and good incline up to the road but we heard plenty of vehicles. 55This is the most secure yard we have seen in a long time. I have a Houdini husky and a vaporizing golden retriever and they were no match for their solid fencing. It was a relief and I could enjoy watching them frolic (and, of course, checking the perimeter for defects).

This is the perfect yard for sniffs, for relaxing, and to work on some socialization training with my reactive black lab. There is a 6’ privacy fence all around, nice landscaping and plenty of shade. 55This was my first use of Sniffspot so I wasn’t 100% sure what to expect. Once I got over the weirdness of walking into someone else’s yard, I was very pleased! The space was clean and just big enough for a 70 pound reactive Labrador to run and have fun. The host had warned me in advance that the water wasn’t on yet, so I brought my own and we were fine. There were some garden beds around so if you have a digger like I do, you’ll just need to be aware and keep an eye on them. There was also a dog in the back neighbor’s yard that got mine a little riled up at first but she soon settled down and things were fine. Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers).
