55By far one of the BEST SNIFF spots! Well marked trails, no one else in sight. My dogs had an absolute blast. Drove over an hour to get there and would do it again in a heartbeat. Booked for 2 hours and glad I did plenty of time to explore and relax!Chloe W.

55Second time here and it was just as great as I remembered! While I came with bug spray and sun screen, Susan was kind enough to provide a bucket of essentials at the beginning of the trails. Worth the drive for us to have a lovely walk with a little time to rest along the quiet river. Lindsay G.

55With the river being so low, my pups are able to explore allll the nooks and crannies. It's like an additional trail for them. I love watching them navigate the rocks, working out where to step. The birds were very vocal today too!Vickie B.

55The parking lot is just past the house going NW(towards Laconia) it is very clearly marked. The trails were very clearly marked as well. We took the green trail. 3 dogs and we took out time from the parking lot to the river was about 18 mins. There were two chairs and shady which was nice. The green loop exit you go under a couple trees and has some poison ivy in the tall grass. We enjoyed some time at the river then headed back and very doable in the hour time frame I selected. The host sent a message ahead of time with instructions and trail information.
Carry in and carry out (no trash cans in the parking lot) Amanda B.

55Like other users, I appreciate having a private spot available for getting both my sometimes-reactive dog and myself some exercise. My dog isn’t much of a fetcher, so trails are very welcome. These trails are well marked, and depending on your pace, completing both in an hour is easily doable. The trails are pretty rugged—so unless you’re good about always picking up your feet when you walk, you’ll want to wear closed-toe shoes!!Amy S.

55As others say, the trails are well marked. It was an excellent experience for me and for my dogs. Not too buggy, lots of water to splash in - we give it a double thumbs up!
It's so nice to go out in the woods and know that I'm not going to run into anyone. Thank you so much for having this spot available to others! Annie R.

55A lot of work has been done since we last came. Dogs had a blast weaving through the pens. Also loved the hand held bug zapper. The bugs weren’t too bad but it was nice to be able to use. Momo W.

55My older pup would be in the river all day if she could! She loves pulling sticks up out of the water and putting them in a pile on the bank. This place is perfect for my 2 to be in total "dog mode". 🥰Vickie B.

55I rescued a four-year-old Cane Corso six months ago. She hadn’t been socialized, so she’s reactive to both people and other dogs. It was such a relief to finally walk her somewhere outside our own property without the stress of encountering off-leash dogs. The trails were clearly marked, which made it easy to navigate without getting us lost. I’ll definitely be back—it was a peaceful, private spot to enjoy nature with my dog.Rebecca S.

FAQ About Belmont Dog Parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 2% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Belmont area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 82 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 186 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
