I have always wanted a husky and a good friend of mine mentioned I should look into adopting one of these sweet babies. After some research, I found Texas Husky Rescue. I reached out to them and they helped me along the way to adopting my very own Husky! They took great care of us and made sure we were a perfect match! My husky's name is Holo (fka Natasha) and she is a piebald pattern sweetheart!

Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. was created in May 2009 as a non-profit 501(c)3 animal rescue organization that is run entirely by volunteers and does not have a paid staff or a shelter. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc relies solely on volunteer foster families to take huskies into their homes until permanent, qualified, and loving homes can be found. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is a responsible animal adoption agency and ensures that none of our dogs will ever contribute to the overpopulation of dogs in our community. The work of Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is supported by tax-deductible contributions by individuals, corporations, and grants. Our initial goal when we began in 2009 was to save 30 huskies from area shelters. We have rescued over 2,500 and counting.

These measures range from placing dogs into foster homes or with rescues, sending animals on transports out of state or even connecting dog owners with appropriate resources to allow them to keep their pet.

My daughter and I volunteered at HSNT for 6 years. The shelter keeps the animals until they are adopted The staff are responsible and caring. The facility is clean and well maintained. They do everything trying to create a good environment for the animals there when they were waiting to be adopted. We were happy every time when we saw dogs/cats got adopted. We had a wonderful memories volunteering there. I ended up adopting a dog from there and one of the best things I am glad I did..

SAVING AUSSIES IN THE DFW & SURROUNDING AREAS Two young women were helping out with two separate rescues when they crossed paths trying to help a dog for one another. They quickly became close friends. After they agreed that they each had a conflict of interest with the rescue they were helping they decided to work together to start their very own rescue and that was the day NTASR was born. While the president has amazing experience in the breed, the vice president has great experience in animal welfare administration so together they made the perfect pair. NTASR helps Australian Shepherds, Border Collies, and mixes of the two. They are open to working with other working or herding dogs as well depending on the circumstances. Don't think for a second these two women won't jump to help a dog in emergent need. Thus far, several other breeds have made their way through the rescue because of their kind and caring hearts including a doodle, a dachshund, a frenchie, and a shar pei. NTASR takes behavioral and medical dogs and gets them the appropriate rehab to be able to find them the perfect forever home. Aussies are such special breeds and deserve very particular and experienced homes.

    Dallas

Dallas Street Dog Advocates (DSDA) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that was formed by volunteers who care about the loose and stray street dog problem in Dallas. What we have learned from our experience in rescuing dogs off the street is that many of them are highly adoptable. They yearn to love and be loved and deserve to be healthy, happy and have a home of their own. We have also learned that the people that live in the areas, where the stray dog problems are the worst, want our help. They are instrumental in helping us catch the strays by establishing feeding schedules and routines. They also tell us about the dog's history. Some are left when their owners move out. Some are tossed from moving cars. Some are born on the street to dogs that have been abandoned. The list goes on and on. If you can think of it, it has happened. The people have watched these dogs die of starvation, dehydration and heat stroke. They have watched them suffer after being hit by a car and left lying on the street. The dogs and the people living in these conditions need our help. These dogs are typically socialized and do very well once they are rescued off the streets and given time to decompress. Dallas Street Dog Advocates goal is to rescue as many adoptable dogs off the streets as we can find foster homes for and have the funds to care for. After they are healthy and have lived in a foster home, then we find them forever homes. We see ourselves as a "bridge" between the homeless street dogs and their forever families. We also want to serve the people who live amongst this problem by offering them dog food, flea and tick prevention, education on caring for their dogs and connecting them with available resources to have their dog spayed or neutered. Together with the help of our volunteers and supporters, coupled with our passion and love for dogs, we will make a difference in Dallas one dog, one home, and one community at a time.

The Pawerful Rescue was established in 2019 as a 501c3 nonprofit animal rescue, but our founder, Stephanie, had already been rescuing strays for years. We all have a friend like that‚ don't we? No matter where she went, Stephanie would find an animal in need. It wasn't until Stephanie moved to South Los Angeles, though, that she experienced an overwhelming number of animals in need. From that point, The Pawerful Rescue grew organically. What was once just a person picking up strays and trying to reunite, vet, or rehome these little souls, morphed into an organization that is made up of like-minded individuals making a difference. Duke Hemstreet joined the rescue in 2020 and has been an instrumental part in the rescue flourishing. Our rescue has expanded into Texas, where we dream of building a sanctuary for those fur babies that need a place to call home. Our goal has always been to find the perfect home for our rescues, but if that perfect home never comes, they get to live out their days with us! We Rescue the Ones That Need the Most Rescuing! Every rescue is different. Some are breed specific or even age specific. We've rescued everyone from a five-pound miniature Poodle, to a 100-pound paralyzed Great Dane. We gravitate toward animals with extreme medical, behavioral, and other special needs as well as senior dogs. They aren't the easiest cases, but certainly the most fulfilling to watch transform. As The Pawerful Rescue continues to grow, we look forward to sharing every part of the journey with you.

As the Lone Star Dog Ranch began to develop a following on social media, Renee Eden was contacted by multiple rescue groups asking for her help and expertise in rescuing dogs on death row, discarded breeder dogs, and dogs in shelters. She found that she had the facility (the Lone Star Dog Ranch), the expertise, the passion and energy to devote time to dogs in need. In 2014 Dog Ranch Rescue, Inc. was founded as a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Dog Ranch Rescue is a separate non-profit business from the Lone Star Dog Ranch boarding facility. The rescue has it's own building and property adjacent to the Lone Star Dog Ranch property in Anna, TX. The rescue was formed to rescue and rehabilitate dogs in need from various sources, such as puppy mills, local shelters and strays. The rescue provides medical help for each dog, houses them, rehabilitates, socializes and trains them. The rescue accepts donations from the public that help cover all aspects of the cost associated with this process. When the dogs are restored to good health, spayed, neutered and have all of their needs met physically and socially we take the necessary steps to rehome them. Each home that a dog is placed in goes through a rigorous application and review process to ensure a positive outcome. If the placement of the dog is not a good fit the dog is accepted back into the rescue and the process begins again. Since our inception in 2014 over 2,000 dogs have come through the door of Dog Ranch Rescue and gone on to enjoy a very happily ever after.

I volunteer with DAS and also a local private rescue group. I see all the time how resource constrained DAS is being a municipal shelter. Friends of DAS (FODAS) fills in so many gaps where the city funding is not enough. FODAS is a true grassroots group. It’s run by active volunteers in the shelter who saw and need and did something about it. Being one of the top 10 largest shelters in the country, DAS has a huge animal population (1,359 as of today). Issues come up quick. If the A/C goes out FODAS will swoop in and get cooling pads and fans that day. If there is a disease outbreak and they need to get 100 dogs adopted in a weekend to clear space for separation- FODAS provides incentive gift cards. There are so many more examples. FODAS is an example of people seeing gaps in the community and doing something about it- making stuff happen.

We want to tell about our small but growing animal volunteer animal rescue, foster, rehab and adoption organization. Our mission started several years ago. We try to save those animals who have no hope or a tomorrow ahead of them. We take in animals and foster and care for them. Most of our animals find loving and permanent homes through our diligent screening process. Because of the tremendous need, we are growing our organization and naming it in honor of our puppy who crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge at a very young age. We hope and believe that with your help we can touch many more lives and do more than we have already done.

We are a network of volunteer foster homes, which means all dogs adopted through us come from loving, caring homes straight to you. Since we don't use a holding facility, our dogs come to their new homes calm, relaxed, and ready for a new life, rather than being nervous and traumatized from the noise and chaos of a shelter. We evaluate, rescue, and rehabilitate abandoned Border Collies, as well as other herding breeds, and find homes that will love and cherish them forever. All of our dogs have been fully vetted to include all vaccinations, heartworm test (and treatment, if necessary), spay/neuter, and a microchip with Border Collie Rescue & Rescue contact information. Upon adoption, you will be provided with physical proof of all treatments and veterinary reports, along with a rabies tag and chip information. We will never withhold any animal information and are happy to disclose exactly where we got our dogs from and when. Our dogs have been temperament tested and reside in foster homes with active and diverse families just like yours! Our dogs are crate trained and housebroken and have received basic obedience training using only positive reinforcement techniques such as leading, shaping, R+, and counter-conditioning. We believe a rescued dog brings experiences with them when rescued, and with our loving rehabilitation, they become perfect life partners. Their backgrounds may vary from breeders to farm dogs to strays but all of them deserve the unconditional love they will be glad to give their new families. We bring them into our homes and rehabilitate them by providing love, structure, and routine. We mend wounds and clean them up both emotionally and physically. We know you have many choices of rescues to choose from. However, we believe once you get to know us, you will find our rescue family to be the perfect match for you and your family. They provide dogs not only with larger sized kennels but also a large outdoor area where volunteers can provide interaction and walk the dogs. They also have an on-site animal hospital, operate a community pet food pantry, provide disaster response support (among other things). I adopted both of my dogs from Operation Kindness. Their staff is so helpful and kind, welcoming me every weekend for a few months before I found my first sweetie who had been rescued from a puppy mill. A year later I decided she needed a companion and looked again, bringing my first pup with me for a couple meet-and-greets. They were so thoughtful and gentle with her as she shook in fear (I'm sure scared she was being abandoned 😭) and provided the use of an office with a blanket on the floor so she didn't have to pass through the kennels and could calm down enough to be introduced. She settled on an adorable puppy who was the runt of a litter that had been born to a dog abandoned to the shelter. They are such a joy and I am so thankful for a no-kill shelter that protected them until I could find them!

Emotional Rescue and the woman who runs it,Shannon Tarr, are rare finds. The loving way they care for the most fragile dogs. Blind, deaf, those who need wheels to get around, mangy, starved and severe medical issues. This rescue takes the most difficult cases. They'll do anything and everything possible to change a dogs life from the depths of despair, many on deaths door, to happy well adjusted dogs that love life. The most amazing part of Emotional Rescue is that "mama" Shannon speaks dog . She knows what each individual dog needs and finds a way to give it to them. They are what all rescues should be.

At Saving Hope we would love to see that every animal knows love and kindness. No animals should have to endure needless pain and suffering. We are providing a voice to those that need it most. The animals that sit chained up with limited access to food and water. Those dumped on back roads to become someone else problem. We believe in not only helping the animals but educating the public and the community on how to do better. Alongside the Saving Hope Foundation we promote and believe in spaying and neutering all pets. We have a motto of no mom left behind, which means we go to great lengths to ensure that mom does not have to have babies again.

As of September 10th, 2012 DFW's FurGotten Friend's has become an official non-profit rescue in Dallas, Texas. Tens of thousands of dogs are put to sleep or die on the streets of Dallas every year and we are here to make a difference in the lives of the dogs to follow. Through our efforts, we hope to get as many forgotten dogs off the streets as possible and show them that the world has not turned its back on them. We are a non-profit, so we operate through donations and fundraisers with the help of volunteers and private citizens of Dallas who truly care about the forgotten dogs out there.

We are not a shelter so we rely on fosters and other rescue organizations to assist us until we can find permanent homes for the dogs we capture. We also provide full veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchips, and vaccinations for our ‚ Duck Dogs. Please keep in mind that your help is needed throughout the process. If you find a dog that you've been trying to catch and you request our assistance, please take the next step and help us find the dog a place to go (foster, rescue, home) once captured. If needed, we will gladly direct you to a list of rescue groups in the DFW metroplex. Please see our ‚Resources Tab‚ for additional information and DT6 Partner Rescue Groups listed. We are deeply thankful for your compassion and willingness to help a dog in need! Special Note: DT6 performs captures during our spare time (evenings and weekends). As a result, we may not be able to ‚deploy‚ on extremely short notice. We will do our best to remain in contact with Good Samaritans requesting help until we can take action. Duck Team 6 doesn't just capture dogs! We have an excellent Community Outreach program that provides emergency medical assistance, food, supplies, and run builds for pets that qualify. We are huge advocates of education and litter prevention. We host free vaccination clinics for the community dogs in need as well as promotion or sponsorship of low cost or free spay/neuter surgeries to pet owners who could not afford to do so otherwise.

The organization has been founded in grassroots work since 1999 when founder, Angie Manriquez, began her mission. The community lovingly calls Angie. "The Fairy Dogmother of Dallas". Over the past 20 years Angie has "worked the streets" providing love, food, comfort and direction for owners and dogs. She works to remove tow chains and provide fencing or light weight tethers. She crawls under homes, behind bushes and sometimes patiently waits for a stray to trust her treats. She's an amazing woman doing everything she can to provide the best life for these dogs, even through the worst of conditions and the hardest of times, she refuses to give up. For Angie and the team to continue their work to provide safety, food and shelter to these dogs, we need your help. Donations go directly to the care and budding friendship between Angie's Friends and the dogs. Help us make a difference today!

Dauntless Rescue Inc is a non-profit 501(c)3, DBA The Street Dog Project that focuses primarily on rescuing dogs directly from the streets of Dallas, TX. The Street Dog Project is comprised of a small group of volunteers who are passionate about saving street dogs. The project began when vulnerable, homeless pets in the Dallas area, truly needed us the most. Our goal is to reduce the street dog population through rescue, placement and outreach. Since 2016 we've rescued hundreds of dogs from the streets and found them loving homes. We rely on our team members, neighborhood communities and our social media community for support to help us continue to bring awareness to the stray, abused, neglected, and homeless dogs in the Dallas area. Our rescues start with rescuing an elusive dog from the streets. Sometimes Samaritans notify us about dogs that need to be rescued, and sometimes we find these dogs on our own. In most cases, they are hurt, malnourished, scared, or in danger of being hit by oncoming traffic. These search and rescue mission can take days, weeks, or even months but our team never gives up on a mission or a dog. Upon rescue, dogs are taken straight to the vet, so they can be scanned for a microchip and a vet can attend to any emergency medical needs. Life on the streets is tough so a lot of the dogs we take in have medical needs that go beyond the norm. Heart-worm, mange, leg and eye injuries are some of the most common medical conditions we encounter. Dallas has thousands of street dogs and our goal is to save as many as possible. We hope to raise awareness for the street dogs who just need a chance.

    Dallas

Dallas Animal Welfare Group, or The DAWG Project, was founded in 2016 by a group of friends in response to the loose and stray dog crisis in southern Dallas. A generations-old problem, the issue was brought into sharp relief by the death of Antoinette Brown, a homeless US Army veteran who was mauled to death by six loose dogs after walking into a vacant lot in May of that year. A subsequent census estimated 7,000 - 9,000 loose or stray dogs in southern Dallas. The count on the same day in North Dallas? One. The city of Dallas began sweeps to pick up loose dogs for their safety and for the safety of the citizens of southern Dallas. As the shelter began to fill, dogs were euthanized for space. This is a hard reality in municipal shelters. DAWG was founded to provide a positive outcome for Dallas shelter dogs and to fill the gaps in animal rescue to move the city of Dallas toward becoming a no-kill community.

Officially formed in 2015 as a street rescue for south Dallas, with a handful of dedicated individuals, Dallas Dog has grown from saving a few dogs to saving thousands across the state. Our mission remains focused on saving those facing the greatest odds. Whether abandoned, hurt, or displaced due to circumstances beyond their choosing, every animal needs a human voice to be their advocate. Texas remains one of the highest states in the country for euthanasia of adoptable dogs and cats. Dallas Dog - along with our supporters - is working to reverse that rank. Change of this magnitude takes time but we're making strides and are proud of our accomplishments to date. Rescue is not easy; our team has seen some of the worst human beings have inflicted upon animals. Whether it's picking up an owner-surrendered animal because they are too old, rescuing an injured and bleeding dog from the street, or going to court to be an animal's voice for justice, Dallas Dog's commitment to a rescued animal is ALL IN. Dallas Dog remains a foster-based rescue; we do not maintain a facility of our own. Our organization depends on - and are very thankful for - the hundreds of foster families and individuals who believe in and support our mission. They open their hearts and homes providing essential decompression, care, love, and rehabilitation for our rescued animals. This environment of safety and compassion gives them the best opportunity to be adopted.
