Slip into the magical microforest where shaded trails and natural sniffs await the curious explorer. Two picnic tables give humans their own perfect perches: one tucked privately in the forest, the other right in the heart of the sunny backyard so you never miss the action. Meander along the old miniature train track paths — right now they’re a winter wonderland under a blanket of snow, but come spring and summer they’ll be groomed into charming walking loops that add a touch of whimsy to every visit. The firepit is currently closed for its royal renovation and will return bigger, better, and ready for cozy evenings this spring. You’ll find everything taken care of: dedicated off-street parking in our private driveway, complimentary poop bags, garbage cans, and a tote stocked with extra toys and balls for your dog to claim as their own while they’re here. We’re brand-new hosts who are absolutely thrilled to open our gates. Over the next few months we’ll be adding agility equipment, and by summer you’ll have a proper digging pit, the refurbished firepit, and (fingers crossed for hot days) a kiddie pool for cooling off. We want Barkingham Palace to be the best private dog space in the area, and we can’t do it without you. ***Charges are in USD*** We at BHS understand that letting your dog run and play is so important! But some dogs aren't suitable for dog parks or social areas. Our private, fully fenced half acre yard is the perfect place to let your (reactive or otherwise) dog just be a dog and get some freedom! Please check in at the front desk to get the key to the yard, and clean up after yourself. There are water bowls in the yard, but please bring your own water. There are trees providing shady areas throughout the day. If bringing back the key when we are not open, please put it in the Mailbox, located beside our Front Doors. When we are open, our receptionists will gladly take the key back from you! All the fees go directly to the animals in our case, and we are a registered charity and no-kill shelter. A big, bush-like backyard against the edge of the escarpment, adjacent to both a Bruce trail access point and a city park with courts and a playground for a combined use, a spot with something for everyone! Note that people with dogs walk along the east side of the lot when accessing the Bruce Trail. A small dog name Jack lives along the west fenceline, he is occasionally out for a pee. Access through double gates at the side of the house, yard is fenced in with extra fencing along the bottom edge at key points. Family-friendly so please be sure to poop and scoop. Garbage and scooper are provided near the entry gate. Plenty of seating areas to choose from scattered across the yard!

There are forest trails and trails around our hay fields. **Please note **Our residential areas are off limits, please stick to the trails and blue markers. Please do not enter any of the buildings on our property. When you come up the driveway veer to the right, there is a marked parking spot for you and your pup. Fall, winter and early spring are great months for ball chasers as we have big open fields. Mid spring and summer we have hay growing and ask you and your pups to follow the trails around the hay fields. There are a couple of cows on the neighboring property, this is only for a very small portion on one of the fields.

As well, some of our clients have dogs that are both other pet and human reactive so we would never want any of our guests to meet other guests. We have an upgraded filtration system in order to be able to offer this incredible experience in this beautiful space, however, we all have to work together to ensure it remains very well maintained and as such, we ask that your pets be very well groomed before entering the pool.
