Most of the trail is shaded which was ideal with the warmer weather. Ticks are really bad everywhere this year, so dress appropriately and pack bug spray. The host met us when we arrived with a cooler of bottled water and bug spray, in case you forgot yours. I definitely enjoyed a cool bottle of water at the end of our visit.
