Fayette County Animal Rescue is a no-kill, non-profit animal shelter serving Fayette County, TN. We have a physical shelter which is located on 5 beautiful acres in Rossville, TN. Our primary focus is helping animals in extreme cases of abuse, neglect, injury or abandonment. We house between 70-100 cats and dogs at our shelter and in foster homes. OUR BEGINNINGS In 1998, two women decided to make a difference in the lives of the many animals that were suffering needlessly in Fayette County. Yvette Rose and Delores Cowan Provow began with two kennels in a garage and Fayette County Animal Rescue has now grown to a shelter that houses 70-100 animals in a sanctuary environment on 5 acres. The dedication and love for animals by these two ladies, and the will to make a difference in their community, spawned one of the largest no-kill organizations in the Mid South area. Heartbreaking years of struggle for these two founding members have given hope and a new life to thousands of animals that would have died needlessly on the rural roads of Fayette County. Their friendship and loving bond continues today for their life long mission of making a difference for all the needy animals that come to FCAR. Our shelter is now supported by hundreds of volunteers, all working tirelessly for the animals. Fayette County Animal Rescue is located in the third largest county in the State of Tennessee. Each month Animal Control picks up on the average 130 animals. All of these animals are euthanized after 72 hours. FCAR is the only No-Kill, No Cages Animal Shelter in Fayette County. Your donations are very important to our mission. We believe we can make a difference in our community and the animals that live here. Please join us in helping make this dream a reality.

To offer refuge, medical care, nourishment and an opportunity for a second chance for life to injured and abused animals in Fayette County, TN. To foster a public sentiment of humanity and gentleness toward animals and protect them from cruelty, neglect, carelessness and ignorance. To promote responsible pet ownership through humane education. To enhance the quality of human life with animal companionship.

Adoption Policy

ADOPTION GUIDELINES All of our rescued animals receive rehabilitation and, once they are healthy, are available for adoption for a fee of $95 for both cats and dogs. This fee includes: • Comprehensive medical exam by a licensed veterinarian • Up-to-date vaccinations (puppies may need additional booster shots, which we will cover if coordinated through us and FCAR's veterinarian) • Spaying or neutering • Microchipping • 30-day pet health guarantee (*Local adoptions only; must follow the process provided at adoption) • 30-day money-back guarantee If you are not near our facility and need transport services, click here for details. We aim to find loving homes for all our rescued animals. To ensure their well-being, some animals may have specific adoption requirements: • Fenced yard (required for all dogs; we need a video of your fully fenced backyard. An in-person fence check may be required locally. We do not accept invisible fences, tie-outs, or small pens.) • Home inspection may be conducted for dogs and cats (local only) • Veterinary reference from previous pet owners (must show current vaccinations and heartworm prevention) • If no previous veterinary history, purchase of a 3-month supply of heartworm and flea/tick prevention • If renting, verification from your landlord regarding pet acceptance, any restrictions, and pet deposit • Meet-and-greet with current pets to ensure compatibility Please note: We will contact your current or previous veterinarian to confirm a history of vaccinations and heartworm prevention. We may conduct a physical fence inspection (if applicable) and a home inspection for all adoptions. David's dedication to providing safe and enjoyable spaces for dogs to play, explore, and socialize is evident in his unwavering commitment to Sniffspot. He strongly believes that dogs need ample space and opportunities to stretch their legs and have fun. As a result, he has worked tirelessly to build a network of private property owners across the country who share his vision and are willing to offer their space for the benefit of dogs and their owners. Despite his busy schedule, David always finds time to indulge in his passion for the great outdoors. He loves nothing more than exploring new hiking trails and embarking on thrilling outdoor adventures. Whenever he is not working on Sniffspot, he can often be found hiking or visiting multi-acre fenced sniffspots with his two beloved dogs, Soba and Toshii. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys the fresh air, breathtaking scenery, and the sense of freedom that comes with being in nature. David is based in Salem, MA.
