Wonderful spot! A lovely wooded area with a little stream and lots of room to run around - the doggos had a blast. :) No fencing, as it says in the description, but if your dog is call-trained you'll be fine. We would love to come again!

This is a terrific spot! It’s a combination of a very large suburban backyard that backs onto a beautiful wooded area that features a creek and field. Our dogs loved exploring the varied terrain. The yard offers ample room for play and games. There is even a place for the pups to dig! The space is very clean and well cared for. Humans will appreciate the lovely, shaded patio that offers a gorgeous view of the surroundings. John was friendly and communicative. We appreciated the clear and specific directions about how to find the place and where to park. Highly recommend!

Great spot! Lots of space to run! If you trust your dog past the fenced area there’s a small creek across the back of the property for a cool dip on a hot day. Our pups loved it! A little gnatty (to be expected in this area) so next time I’ll be sure to wear bugspray, but highly recommend!

We had such a good time exploring John’s property today! He was very welcoming and showed me where everything was before leaving us to it. There’s lots of room to play and explore for your pup. Since the humidity has already set it, it was pretty buggy, so make sure you spray everyone down.

John’s Sniff Spot is quite nice, a bit hilly, with nice shaded areas. There are poop bags, and fresh water, as well as some toys. My dog enjoyed fetching the ball that was there, and running the hill to retrieve it really wore him out!

Sunny had a great time at her first Sniffspot and she wore herself out! John is an excellent host and the property is very spacious with lots of areas to explore. Sunny ran around off leash in the fenced in area then went down to the creek on leash. No worries about other dogs! I forgot to take pics at the property but you can see she is tired out on the way home.

55This place is one-of-a-kind. I've never seen anything like it. It's like super nice public park, only it's completely privateee. You have several distinct areas - the grasslands, the wetlands and the forest. Each of these areas are huge. The grasslands is perfect high quality mowed grass enclosed with a fence. The wetlands is natural land with a nice large creek running through it. We went on a day with a lot of rain and it was perfectly swampy, just dry enough for humans with trail runners but wet and dirty as desired by our pup. The forest is a trail through the woods surrounded by stumps and other natural flora. In all 3 areas, we heard nothing but nature. No neighbors. No dogs. No human. No road. Pure heavennnn. Every detail was executed perfectly -- easy to park, the host explained the access flawlessly, clear signs on all the gates, doggy bags in multiple locations, an easy to access trash can and very responsive in the app. What sets this place apart is the large acreage, beautiful natural forests and seclusion. The property backs up to government owed land, so the property appears much LARGER than 5 acres. We had to really search hard to find neighbors, and even then we could barely see them, and only on 1 side, super far away. Seclusion to the extreme, nature of the highest order. Places like this are why Sniffspot exists. You will be very hard pressed to find a nicer, more secluded place in the entire DMV. 6 out of 5 stars. John and his wife are excellent hosts and good people. John brought home a new foster pup, and we had great conversation about his work with a dog rescue and our love for dogs. The property is A, #1. It's like being at a park. It's tranquil and quiet and is a great escape for people as well as dogs. They have their yard landscaped in a way that allows a place to make every dog happy. There's a gravel and sand area, lush rolling lawn that slopes into a valley with lots of trees around the borders, paved area with paved walkways leading down the hill, and it's all fenced! My dogs had a ball running and playing as I sat under the covered picnic area up by the house. It was my first time, but I assure you it won't be my last. We're going to make this a regular on our playdate schedule!

John has a fantastic area for the dogs. Fenced in for optimal fun runs. A bit of cool creek time. Water/doggie bags for the pup. Bug spray if needed. We'll be back.

This property was great! The owner provided clear instructions of the property location with pictures and greeted me when I got there to provide more helpful information (like where to find fresh water, poop bags, hand sanitizer, and bug spray) since this was my first time at the property. The space was huge and more than plenty of room for my active dog. It was sunny, but she was able to find multiple shady spots to lay down. We explored the creek area for a little, but my dog was more interested in the fenced in yard. The owner takes great care of the property and I’m happy they share it with this community.

Beautiful property with lots of options and space for your pup. There is sand pit for digging, fenced in field, open field, small forest with good stumps for your dog to practice place, and a creek for your pup to cool off. Host was informative and responsive. I will definitely be back!

What a wonderful yard! Beautiful hill. The pristine fenced area is just to the bottom of the hill, but the property beyond makes it seem so much bigger. Kay was a lovely host upon first meeting and had poopie bags and water ready to go. Great place in the shade to sit and relax. Dogs were exhausted from running up and down hill, and I got my steps in for sure. :) Will come back soon!
