Top Public & Private Dog Parks in Montpelier, VA

This is a wonderful Sniffspot with acres of green grass with wooden structures housing farm equipment. There were about 5 acres completely fenced in and other acres which were for leashed dogs only due to not being completely fenced. My dogs loved running throughout the fenced area, enjoying all the interesting structures and sniffing many smells. The yard was wonderful for humans to walk with several places to sit down and enjoy the beauty of the yard. I definitely plan to return with my dogs!

We had a great adventure! It was so fun getting to see our city dogs run free. The spot is great - places to sit, trails mown through the fields, and secure fencing. We will be back!

What a great spot!! Easy to find, perfect communication with the host, a secure fenced area with lots of room to roam. Both dogs are now absolutely sacked out on the floor and very content so a successful trip. Will definitely be back!

I’ve been to Mike’s place with both of my dogs several times now. It’s a great place for them to run around, explore, and sniff. Here are photos from our last couple of visits.

I took my Board and Train here to test his recall off leash. It was the perfect space since it is so huge! It was clean and easy to walk around despite the rain during our session. 10/10 will be back!

This place is an absolute gem! The fencing was very secure. The trails in the on leash area were nicely maintained and there are so many wild flowers and butterflies. Lila enjoyed splashing in the creek at the back of the property. I appreciated having chairs in different areas for when I wanted to take a break. Next visit I’ll plan to bring one of Lila’s brothers (if not both) because the fenced in area is perfect for zoomies. *I have Verizon, and didn’t have any connection issues.

We only visited the on-leash fenced portion, but our pup had a great time racing around the HUGE field! The fence was very secure and we did not see or hear any other dogs in the area. We'll definitely keep this spot in mind for our next adventure.

My dog and I greatly appreciated this huge space for her to roam and explore. There were wide “trails” of mowed grass traversing the taller grass areas, but there were no areas that I wasn’t perfectly capable of walking across comfortably with my hiking boots. I chose to wear the boots because I knew everything would be wet. Even with the recent rains, there were not any muddy areas. I made it a point to walk the perimeter of the fence and there were no places that concerned me for my 30 pound dog. My first visit was with my 11-year-old, highly-trained dog as a sort of test before taking my younger pup who’s well-trained but retains some of her wilder, youthful energy. Having seen the property, I am entirely confident about bringing my younger dog and look forward to returning with her. I didn’t get a chance to try the trail behind the fenced area, so I’m not able to comment on that. One word of advice: I didn’t have any bars at the house (AT&T). Make sure you either screen shot or pay close attention to the directions and photos of where to park before you arrive. Thank you for a great, first Sniffspot experience!
