55Warning for doggies who don't like fireworks. This is our third time at this location, it secure, well-kept, and a great place to play. On this visit, we heard gun shots in the distance from hunters. This is the first time we have encountered this. The sniff spot is excellent, but I wanted to leave this warning to those who might have doggies who are petrified of booms.Nicole M.

55This was an awesome spot! The yard is kept clean and my dogs loved playing with the toys they provide and running up and down the hill. 10/10 recommend! This will be a regular visit for us for sure! Emily C.

55My babies LOVED the area. It is pretty, spacious, and full of places to explore. It isn't riddled with poop which is awesome. The only recommendation I have is for the owners to mark the entrance to the gravel road. To those who will make use of this property at a later date:
-The house is on the right hand (passenger) side. You will continue on that road (down a small hill) for approx 10-15 seconds before the entrance to the gravel/dirt road appears on your right hand side. Drive down that gravel/dirt road and the tractor shed will be on your left.
Other than the unmarked entrance, I have no other recommendations. The place is peaceful, beautiful, and will serve its intended purpose. My babies were asleep well before we got home. They had a blast. Angelika H.

55Great big space to stretch my nervous girl's legs without distraction. There is a little poison ivy, but not enough you can't avoid it if you watch where you step. Penny has a blast sniffing and zooming in the field. Would go again! Anneka W.

55It was a bit of a challenge to find the dirt road (go past the house, down the hill, then pay close attention to your righthand side. If you hit the next house, you've gone too far), but my monsters LOVED it. We'll definitely be back.
I didn't see the hiking areas there appear to be photos for but the place has A LOT of foliage, so it could've just grown over a bit. There's way more than enough space without leaving the immediate area a bit further out from the tractor shed but I'm eager to explore more, once we can get out there a bit earlier and things cool down a bit. I have a very energetic girl (mostly Husky/German Shepherd mix) who learned an unfortunate amount of bad manners at a daycare, mostly around getting overwhelmed with too many dogs to say hi to all at once. She's in training to unlearn as much of it as we can but I can't take her to dog parks. This place is big enough that I'm eager to bring along a friend's dog or two as we reteach her how to listen to pup friends' cues. We're in DC but this is absolutely worth the schlep out.Dani C.

55We were able to wear out our high energy girl playing fetch in the enormous field. It is a beautiful piece of land with a lot to offer. We hope to return with all three dogs; our hound will really enjoy exploring the trails. Virginia C.

55This spot was very quiet and peaceful. I wasn't sure where the owner's property ends so I was a little worried I would go too far. We did see the horse (behind a two-board horse fence, and a deep chasm from an old stream) my dog was a little too interested in the horse, so I had to leash up. There was also a very calm doberman in the horse paddock. Didn't see any other wildlife or domesticated animals. Easy to find and park. Evann O.

55Great place if you need a lot of space or maybe just a little. Open space up and down the hill area the barn was just to enough for our first time visit. I recommend this sniff spot if you find yourself need a place to burn some energy. Be careful of the mud when it rains, Adrian L.

55My dog had a blast here! We spent most of our time exploring the woods, and he loved all of the interesting smells. It was really peaceful. I was happy I wore waterproof boots as there was a little creek and some muddy spots. We did see and hear the 2 resident dogs when we first arrived and as we left since the invisible fence line runs up against the dirt road, but they stayed closer to the house. I also saw a fox run across the field as we were getting ready to leave, so just be aware of the potential to see wildlife (not surprising since it’s a rural property). We had a great visit, and I look forward to going back. Laura S.

55My dog had a great time running through the very large field and roaming the woods. We followed a few short trails into the woods, and he wandered a bit through the woods even when I didn’t see a clear trail. He enjoyed lots of good sniffing!
I didn’t have any trouble finding the entrance after reading the other reviews. I also didn’t have any trouble navigating the road in a sedan. Emily M.

55We have visited the horse farm with our dogs and our friends dogs (up 4-5). The site has 4 fields to explore with trails. The main field is a large open space with a hill which is a great way to exercise out the "demons" with our rowdy bunch :) Enough removed from owned house, and other distractions etc. Not fenced so you need dogs that stay close or have good recall. Grassed area so not much issues with mud (which other sniff spots have been issue). About 30 minutes from DC. The turn into the horse pastures is more of a trail path and a little hard to find on first visit. It can accommodate a SUV, keep in mind not paved and low clearance for some vehicles. Highly recommend this little found gem.Elizabeth S.

55Awesome plot of land for pups to run free. A few different sections to sniff around for long periods of time. You can hear barking and see the dogs at the house. Biggest thing is the ground does get soft. I came early in the morning when it was frozen and got stuck when it thawed (that's on me and my sedan though.)Wendi M.

FAQ about our Davidsonville dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 97% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Davidsonville area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 319 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 51 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
