LHK9 is a 501(c)(3) registered non-profit all-breed dog rescue based in Massachusetts. We are dedicated to saving abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs from high-kill shelters in Central Arkansas and beyond. Though our rescue efforts are focused in the Central Arkansas area, we also serve as a resource for local dog surrenders, shelters, and special rescue efforts in other areas. We don't discriminate on the basis of age, pre-existing medical conditions, or breed, because every dog deserves to know love. As the literal ‚'last hope' of the dogs we serve, our southern fosters pull dogs and puppies from partner shelters in Arkansas. While in foster, each dog receives love, care, and medical treatment, then receives a health clearance and transports to New England. After a mandatory 48-hour quarantine stay and an additional health clearance, each dog is picked up and fostered by a northern foster family who serves as a gateway to his/her adoptive home, affectionately known as a FURever home.

When I lost my 14 year old dog in September 2023 I was totally lost, I couldn't get out of my own way, the sorrow was consuming my whole life, I needed an outlet. I had been following Buddy and Friends on social media for some time and have always loved the thought of fostering and or rescuing. By the beginning of October 2023 I had filled out the foster application and had been approved to start. That's when I saw this 2 year old mama from TN, she had been through the ringer! I decided to take her on as a foster, I had no intentions to adopt so soon after loosing my soul mate dog! But as soon I picked up sissy (now Pixy) I fell head over heals for her!!! By December 2023 we had officially adopted Pixy and I couldn't imagine life without her!!!! We did briefly foster another dog through buddy and friends, a puppy named Zane! We only had him for about a week when he got scooped right up at an adoption event! Buddy and Friends rescue is absolutely amazing, they make the application process so smooth, they are always putting on adoption events to find every dog a home! They supply not only food like most rescues, but toys, and treats. They cover training costs from a fabulous facility! Buddy and Friends is by far the best rescue I have worked with so far!

I’ve adopted from several different rescues. Some adoptions went better than others. Ruff Tales went to great efforts to make sure my pup and I were a good match. I feel like I and my dogs are in great hands with this group.

When my dearest Dog got Cancer she was given less than 2 weeks to live. I have another dog who really needs a buddy so I set out to find the perfect dog even before she had to cross the Rainbow Bridge. I found a beautiful girl. I talked with her foster mom and she was amazing and didn't judge me for looking and understood that I couldn't adopt the new dog until I had to say goodbye. The day I met my new sweet girl was a day of mixed emotions and I fell in love with Pinky right away. I thank them for patience and for really making sure I was a good fit.

Great Dog Rescue New England (GDRNE) is a 501(C)(3) non-profit, shelterless, all-breed rescue group headquartered in Massachusetts. Our group is comprised of volunteers from all over New England who love dogs and want to help those that end up homeless through no fault of their own. Loyal and loving dogs turn up every day in New England and Southern shelters, as owners turn them in or they're found roaming the streets after being dumped. To the best of our abilities, we evaluate all of our Great Dogs temperament and suitability for living with other dogs, cats, and children. A dog's health is checked, and we make sure they are up-to-date on all shots and are spayed or neutered. Then, we place them in loving foster homes until they find their very own family. Our goal is to meet the needs of each dog as an individual and to assure proper placement in a loving forever home.

Sweet Paws is a fully volunteer/rescue based organization who truly cares for every single animal that comes into their care. I have personally adopted 2 dogs from them, I also volunteered as both an adoption coordinator and a foster for this rescue. The people who dedicate all of their time and energy to saving helpless animals are all volunteers who have full time jobs and families outside of the rescue but at any given time they might have 15-20 dogs in their care. full litters of puppies get dumped and left for dead, but this rescue take every single one of them in (even if they don't have space) and gets them the care they need before finding them a forever home. They fight for change in animal care in all different areas where the needs are greatest (no dumping, spay/neuter, more shelters, less breeding, more rescuers, more fosters). I cant say enough good things about the work this rescue does to help reduce the amount of stray dogs, the amount of dumped dogs, and the amount of abused dogs out there.

I have donated money to this shelter, mainly because of the devotion that Dalis gives to her shelter. Her life revolves around DTR, but she is also a huge advocate for spay and neutering and has low cost clinics at her facility. That is the core of the problem with unwanted pets and she takes that issue very seriously. I honestly don't know how she does everything she does! She is a tireless, animal loving warrior!

uincy Animal Shelter is primarily a volunteer-run organization. The shelter relies completely on our volunteers and the community for support. Incorporated in November 1999 as a non-profit Massachusetts charity, we are also a recognized charity under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service code. Since 1999, Quincy Animal Shelter has placed more than 7,500 cats and dogs into loving homes throughout New England. We are committed to finding the right home for every adoptable animal in our care. Every animal receives age-appropriate vaccinations, is spayed or neutered and micro-chipped before being placed in its forever home. Delivering this type of care involves many volunteers, an active and dedicated management, and a lot of money. Our annual budget runs approximately $250,000 in order to provide services to the animals in our care and serve the continuous needs of our growing community. Please visit our Volunteer and Wish List pages to find out about ways you can help. As a “no kill” shelter, we make every effort to find the right home for every adoptable animal in our care. This means we exercise the same ethical and humane treatment of animals in our facility that you would for your own family feline or canine friend. Our capacity at the shelter is limited to a maximum of 12 dogs and 15 to 25 cats, depending on ages and condition of the cats. Our dream is to eventually find a larger facility so that we can continue our mission on a larger scale and serve the continuous needs of the community and the animals.

I inquired with Buddy and Friends about fostering to adopt a young husky. I recently lost a fur baby and my husky at home was feeling lonely. Buddy and Friends was very thorough with my application and the interview process. They wanted to make sure that anybody interested in Clyde understood the husky breed. They took the time to give Clyde a two week basic training boot camp before allowing me to take him home. They also allowed us to take the time that we all needed to ensure that Clyde was a good fit to join my family. They best part of the process was that Buddy and Friends did everything they could to avoid adopting Clyde out before he was ready as well as being sure he was going to a home that would understand his breed and thus avoid the chance of him being returned and or neglected in his new home. As somebody who fosters dogs on a regular basis and volunteers in rescue I was more than thrilled with the effort and care that went into making sure Clyde got the best possible life!

9 years ago this month we stopped by The Animal Protection Center of Southeastern MA on a Saturday afternoon just a few hours before closing time. We were hopeful to find a puppy to share our new home with. They brought us through to check out some dogs but none really were suited for us. We were about to leave when we saw a foster with a 5 month old puppy that was undergoing some physical therapy due to being hit by a car. She wasn’t exactly up for adoption yet due to this. But it was our dog, we knew this was our dog. This dog knew that she belonged with us as well. We spent time with her and her foster mom and all agreed that it was meant to be and our girl came home with us that day. And since that day she has been one of the best parts of our life! We are grateful for her as she is the best girl. Everyone that knows her loves her. And she loves everyone with her entire heart and tongue 🤣

    Great Dog Rescue New England

Thousand Oaks, California has been a safe haven for Sniffspot host, Jen, since childhood. Having grown up in busy Santa Barbara, Jen, an introvert from an early age, would seek out solitude and serenity away from tourists attractions and droves of people visiting from elsewhere. “My grandparents own 60 acres about a 30 minute drive from here, and I grew up spending every summer and every holiday visiting them on the ranch,” Jen explained. “In Santa Barbara, we wouldn't go to the beach on the weekend because that's where everybody was, so you'd find places off the beaten path where the tourists weren't. For me, the ranch was just my happy place.”
